DECK, SUN, BBQ and WHALES, THAT'S LIVING LIFE!

Well, first off you did an amazing job decorating. The place is gorgeous and relaxing! I'm really having to stretch though to find improvements!!! The place was great just as it was. We kind of went in knowing that we were the first ones so I did try to pay attention to some things that might help you out with the next folks. That would be the only reason I can even come up with anything. 😊 It was really nice having the grill. We stopped by Sylvana meats on the way and got some good meat to grill. We got to sit on the deck with 80 degrees hitting us, BBQ, watch a whale swim by and listen to him blow air!!! That’s living life!!

Unanimous accolades at Seas the Day!
Spectacular Views! Our family group of 6 (3 adult couples) was thrilled with the view and amenities at this spacious full-basement pub-style lodging. We like to play games, partake in beach activities, and hang out in a nice hot tub. This place had it ALL. Easy-going hosts that thought of everything! 5 full or queen beds in 2 big bedrooms. Giant common area with kitchenette to play pool, darts, and chess/cards, plus a stylish salon area with full sectional & chairs to chill and watch a movie, IF you could pull yourself in from the amazing deck. The porch swing and multi-level hot tub deck were magical for watching the full Strawberry moon reflected over a sweeping 180° So. Puget Sound view this weekend. Cascades AND Olympics! Highly recommed for familiar folk, as the bathroom and bedrooms are shared. No wifi and spotty cell service, but we didn't even miss it.

Magical place. The view is unmatched.
We loved our stay. The hot tub is perched with an insanely great view of the Sound. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the deck watching the birds and sea life. Communication with the warm, attentive hosts was top notch.

The property was very nice and as described. The views and beach are beautiful. Anna and D'Shane were great hosts. Very helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great stay! We had a great time. Really enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and kayaks. The beds were very comfortable, the best sleep of our roadtrip.

Amazing location with beautiful views
We were visiting family on Camano Island and booked this property for the location (near parks) and hot tub! It was perfect for our family of 5! We didn't need to cook but I would say that the kitchenette is not equipped if you would need to. Bedrooms were large with enough sleeping space for our family and we loved being able to wake up and go for a walk through the Camano Island State Park trail. The best part of the property is the hot tub with views. Prior to our stay we received very detailed instructions and a video with rules around the hot tub use. It was VERY OBVIOUS that the owners took pride in their property and had expectations that it would be used properly. We discussed the rules with our kids and did not allow them to use the hot tub unsupervised. Having said that, unfortunately, after check-out, we were asked by the owners if we had spilled drinks in the hot tub because the water appeared cloudy. We responded that we had not (we did not eat or drink in the hot tub per the rules). Four days later, we were notified by VRBO that we were being charged $100 because the hot tub water was brown, and the filter was full of seaweed. We were shocked by this accusation and reached out to the owners. The owners did not provide any proof of the condition of the hot tub and claimed that they needed to empty the hot tub and clean, spending hundreds of dollars on chemicals. I share this because we 100% followed the rules per the property owners and left the hot tub in good condition after our final use as a family. There is no way based on our families use during our stay that the hot tub water could have been dark brown as the property owner claimed (Note: first they said it was cloudy…and then they claimed it was “dark brown when they checked out”) There was no proof provided by the owners of the condition and yet we were charged for the damages. We reached out to VRBO to dispute the claim but per our agreement the property owner has 14 days to assess the property and is able to charge up to $300. I find it extremely disappointing that property owners do not have to provide any evidence (photos, etc) of the damage. Just an FYI to future renters as this could also happen to you. We consider ourselves “rule followers” so were extremely disappointed with this experience.

About the host

Host profile image
We are like the Brady Bunch. We're a blended family with 5 teenagers. We love the sun and the outdoors, and most of all, we love the beach! Anna is from the East Coast and grew up on the coastal state of Connecticut and is a UCONN Husky. She spent her summers on the Connecticut Shore, Cape Cod, MA, Martha's Vineyard, Rhode Island, and the Jersey Shore. Yes, she's a beach girl for sure! D'Shane was born in sunny San Diego, and although he moved to Idaho and then to Seattle as a teenager, his heart remains at the beach. As a loyal and die-hard WSU Cougar, D'Shane also loves college football, NCAA March Madness, Skiing, and all water sports. D'Shane and Anna are known to all their family and friends as DNA. Ours is a story of blue-eyed boy meets brown-eyed girl. West Coast (laidback) boy meets (fiery) East Coast girl. :-) Currently, we live in Issaquah, WA and spend our summers boating on Lake Sammamish, Lake Washington, and the Puget Sound. We have spent many Julys crabbing right in front of Camano Island, but we had never set foot on the island before. It just took one day and we fell in love with this place and the beautiful beach house we call home. Our plan is to retire here someday soon.... meanwhile, we'd love to share our dream house with you.

Why they chose this property

Photos do not do this home justice. It's breathtaking! The windows are huge, and all you see is water, water, water. For years we wanted to live on the beach. We considered Florida, California, Anacortes, and the San Juan Islands. We had never been to Camano Island before. We were here ONE day and decided this was the place! 'Seas the Day' Comet-Casa is a brand new 2-story beach house with its very own 100 feet of tidelands. Yes, your very own beach! We fell in love with this home the moment we walked in. It feels like you are on a cruise ship. From the deck you can hear the waves, and if you're lucky enough, you can see Orca whales right outside in the kelp bed. There is also a bald eagle (his name is Spike) that loves to perch just a few feet away from us and devour his salmon. If you love fishing, you can catch Salmon and Dungeness Crab on your very own beach. (Please get a license first & fish your worries away). The water sparkles, the sun sets, and time flies. Life is short, so spend as much time on the beach as you can & always SEAS THE DAY!

What makes this property unique

Being walking distance from 2 state parks is a huge perk to the location of this home. Facing southwest allows you the enjoyment of watching the sun rise over the Cascade Mountains, as you also get a view of Mt. Rainier. In the evenings the sky lights up with the sun setting over the Olympics. It's the perfect beach day!
