If you are looking for a short weekend escape or a relaxing long stay you will quickly make yourself at home in this renovated 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with all the modern amenities. Situated on a sleepy street in Point Loma, you are within walking distance of the excitement on Newport Avenue in Ocean Beach which is loaded with restaurants, breweries, shops, the OB pier & beach. Not to mention you are just a quick walk to renowned Sunset Cliffs to watch the sunset & the waves come crashing in. Calling all pet lovers, this location offers both dog beach & dog park all within walking distance. If you are here to explore what San Diego has to offer, easy access to other great areas of San Diego, such as Downtown, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, or La Jolla can be reached within 10-15 min.

Features like tile floors throughout, ceilings with exposed beams, custom paint, granite counters, large window and a completely remodeled kitchen and bath make this home a hit. Point Loma is a really a great neighborhood and encompasses all of what SoCal life has to offer. Easy access to beautiful beaches and other areas such as Downtown, this place really is a great place regardless if you are vacationing or in San Diego for work.

You can't ask for more when it comes to the beautiful beaches, which are perfect for surfing, swimming, playing, tanning, etc. Don't forget to cruise the OB coastline along Sunset Cliffs Boulevard to catch amazing views of the Pacific and its sunsets.

Newport Avenue has so much to offer, great boutiques, microbreweries, restaurants, and bars. Every Wednesday near the beach, Newport Avenue is blocked off for the famous OB Farmer's Market, where you can get the best fresh produce and check out goods of local merchants and artists.

If you want to explore other beaches then we suggest Mission Beach and Pacific Beach. Besides having the Pacific and the Bay at your fingertips, a very colorful boardwalk connects the two beaches. Just hop on the boardwalk, but be sure to look both ways first, and experience what the boardwalk is all about in SoCal. There are plenty of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, surf/bike rental shops, and convenient/liquor stores. The Mission Bay Aquatic Center is also nearby and a great place to get all your water activities rentals!

The property was cute and generally well maintained. The electronic lock worked easily. Some of the kitchenware could have been cleaner. There was too much airplane noise.

Great place to stay with a few suggestions on cleaning

The place is like the photos. Perfect location to ealk or bike or drive literally everywhere in town..great neighborhood - a real neighborhood. We loved it. Really. Even my next part isn’t negative. Just gotta get it cleaner. Here's my suggestions for us to return- 4 adults need more than 4 bath towels, washing machine was terrible and didn’t clean anything, throw blankets had animal hair feom prior guests all over them, house fans were super old and caked with dirt (we cleaned the best we could), the kitchen table and floors needed cleaning. The house needs newer, clean fans for sure. The ac unit really does cool it down at night but if you're hanging in the day, you may wanna go buy another fan. It's hot in the daytime. But this place is a good little find and we had a lovely vacation

Not our favorite

Unfortunately this was not the best experience we have had staying at VRBO. I will note that our property manager was very responsive and did what they could to help, but unfortunately some things were out of their control and the property management company only wanted to help so much. Upon arrival the home had not been properly cleaned. There was animal hair everywhere and the place smelled of wet dog. We had several issues with ants, silverfish. and other roach-like bugs in the home, although this improved somewhat after they called pest control to come spray. We also noted upon arrival that the bedframe in the main bedroom was broken - the support beam in the center of the bed had collapsed causing the mattress to sag in the middle. Despite the handyman's best efforts, it was not repairable, but the management company did not want to replace the frame so we were left to make do for our stay. The bed as we experienced it was wildly uncomfortable. Our stay in San Diego coincided with one of the wettest winters in recent history, and we experienced an unexpected amount of rain over our 6 week stay. Unfortunately the roof and the windows were not meant to withstand this amount of rain and we experienced several leaks in the ceiling and from the window frames where water seeped into the living spaces. Obviously this was out of management's control and they informed us they would be looking into roof repairs after our departure, but it certainly dampened the experience. Despite the meticulous listing of each item in the house down to the last fork, knife, and spoon, several items in the kitchen were missing, as was the vacuum. The control pad for the oven had been broken and replaced with a part that does not fit properly. We also were uncomfortable with the hole in the wall where the mail slot opens into the living room. From the outside, someone could open the mailslot and reach in or look right into the living space. We had the handyman cover this with cardboard and tape. The location of the home was excellent, we loved being in the neighborhood and walkable to the main streets of Ocean Beach, but the next time we come to stay here we will look for another place.

Point Loma is easy to get around and you can pretty much get around however you like! If you are driving, you have direct access to the 5 and 8 freeways! If you prefer streets, then just hop on Nimitz Boulevard for easy access to Downtown as well as the beaches of Mission and Pacific.

The 35 bus is the main bus that runs in Ocean Beach, which has a direct route to the Old Town Transit Center, where you can catch trolleys, buses, or trains to virtually any part of San Diego.
