About this property

Casa Al Mare: Expansive Ocean Views, Dog Friendly

5 Bedrooms | 2 Full Bathrooms | 1 Half Bathroom
2 Kings | 2 Queens | 2 Twins

Are you ready to relax with a cup of coffee out on the deck and look for dolphins playing in the surf? How about sipping a glass of wine while watching a spectacular sunset with an unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean? If so, Casa al Mare is for you! Check in to this "house by the sea" located within minutes of Oak Islands' fabulous restaurants and hidden gems. Best of all, the nearest public beach access is just a few steps away. Bask away in the sun while you breathe in the crisp air and view the beautiful waves, and even bring Rex and Fido along, as this home accepts two dogs per reservation.

This property underwent an extensive renovation in 2023, which included aquamarine siding, a new roof, updated windows and sliding glass doors, an expansive outdoor shower, an updated refrigerator with ice maker, a gas stove and hardwood flooring throughout.

Gather in the living room to watch a favorite movie on the flatscreen TV, or gather together for a meal in the eat-in kitchen instead. The well equipped kitchen makes providing dinner for the family a breeze. The dining table seats six, and an additional four seats are available at the nearby breakfast bar. Each bedroom has its own private sink so no one will have to wait to get ready, and most bedrooms have a TV for personal entertainment. The downstairs bathroom offers the accessibility features of a taller commode and grab bars.

Two levels of porches provide plenty of space to relax outside, with one covered porch and two open decks available. Drink in 180 degree ocean views as you relax on a variety of outdoor furniture. Under the home, an outdoor shower with hot and cold water is provided for you to rinse off after a long day at the beach. Speaking of the beach, when it's time to hit the sand, simply wander along one of the most magical beach accesses on the island, where impressive driftwood sculptures known as "the Guardians of the Dunes" rise from the swaying sea grasses to watch over you.

In the evening, park your car, grab the leash and walk your dog to Dairy Queen or around the curve to Food Lion or Publix and stock up on essentials. Casa al Mare is even walking distance to restaurants, beach boutiques, nightlife, an arcade and more. Embrace the seaside life and book your stay today!

Dirty

I don’t normally write bad reviews, but this one was pretty bad. The property was pretty filthy upon arrival. Sand everywhere, mildew and soap scum tub, everything covered in a couple layers of dust and dirt, just disgusting. It was clear the property wasn’t really cleaned before our arrival. The pillows had drool stains from other guests. All furniture and linens are super old. The queen beds have a really old mattress and the linens are lumpy and torn. We sat in one bed for the first and it completely broke. My husband had to fix it. The chairs have gross stains on them. The ceiling air vent had BLACK MOLD. It was so disgusting we didn’t even take our things out of the suitcase . At one point I stepped out of bed on to a roach trap. It is clear nothing in that house has been updated in years. The front door pours in water during hard rain. Which explains why the floor is soft. The house smells moldy, which I am assuming is partly from the leak they have. The house is quality you would expect to find at the cheapest motel. It is not at all worth a all what we paid for. It honestly feels like a rip off. I will say the only great thing about it is the location which was convenient to the beach. I wouldn’t stay here again though. It’s just disgusting and not safe for health given that it’s moldy.

Great location! Ceiling fan was about to fall off in the back bedroom, kept you up.

Great location, easy check in. Furniture is very old and uncomfortable. Ceiling fan downstairs will keep everyone who sleeps downstairs up.
