Clean, quiet, close to Montpellier and villages surrounding Pic St Loup, well-appointed.
Our stay in St Gely du Fesc was lovely. The owner, caretaker, and greeter were all very helpful and attentive to any questions or concerns we may have had. Although the temperatures in July were high during the day and the house(s) did not have air conditioning, the shutters helped keep everything cool during the heat of the day and the temperatures were very comfortable when the sun went down. The pool was refreshing and excellent for play or lounging.
The kitchens were well-equipped, as were the bathrooms (a couple/few had shower stalls).
May I suggest some language-specific instructions for the appliances (like the dishwasher and washing machine)? And possibly a few extra towels for pool use?
Some specifics about our group: There were 11 of us, ranging in age from 13-55. We enjoyed visiting Montpellier, Sète, St Guilhem le Deserts, and many other small villages, markets and vineyards around Pic St Loup. We cooked many meals at the house, eating all together around a large table in the loft residence.
Thank you, Antoine, for offering your wonderful home for our use.
A magnificent house
What a beautiful house - or actually it is two very fine houses. Everything is totally as the pictures show - and the host is very friendly too. The town is quite small with nothing much to do, but you don't wan't to leave the house anyway:) We were 11 people, 5 adults and 6 young men in the age of 12 - 19. The young ones lived in one house, and the adults in the other - it worked out perfectly. The pool was a little bit cold, but it didn't matter much as the weather was very hot. We would love to come back.
A magnificent house in a quiet place.
The house has everything needed for a splendid vacation. We were 11 people - 5 adult and 6 teenage boys and the teenagers lived in the loft, we had the main house - that worked very well.
The outside area with the pool and especially the lounge area is very nice too.
Antione Caroll is very friendly and helpful and we would love to come back sometime.
Tolles Ferienhaus in herrlicher Umgebung
In our village of Saint Gély du Fesc there are very good shops; here are our good addresses:
- Butcher shop "Bouch'rie" 35 Rue Lavandin
- Patisserie Druot 316 Grand Rue
- The Coulondrines Golf Restaurant
- The pizzeria Gouts and flavors 1185 Av du Clapas
- The cooperative cellar (to buy wine): The cellar of the peak - 2 Avenue du Pic Saint-Loup
- For golf lovers, the Golf de Coulondres is 200 meters from our house.
- For those who love walks, 200 meters from us, you have the park dei (or park of Coulondres), or 18 hectares, deer live in freedom.
- Then, for those who love nature and want to hike, go to the peak Saint Wolf (30 mins drive from St Gély), or go for a walk in the Buèges Valley (1 hour drive - it's beautiful ).
If you have time, go on Saturday morning from 8am to 13h to Montpellier hoops market (under the water) arches of the boulevard. The market is excellent, we advise you FROMABON (a cheese producer of Aveyron which is exceptional- recognizable with its logo: a cross of Occitanie red) and do not miss the shops of the street Marioge: You can go with your eyes closed in all the shops: The Bacchus restaurant is excellent, the fishmonger, the butcher, the wine merchant, the pastry chef: everything is good! This is an opportunity to cross the Peyrou, and stroll in Montpellier.
