About Barb Morris
Owners are Ward & Barb Morris who moved to the Lake in 1985 and raised our 3 children in one of the most beautiful locales in the U.S.! Barb owned and operated several Lake area restaurants over the past 27 years and enjoys the fine art of cooking and especially, pairing food with wine! Ward takes weekend breaks from his Computer Consulting career to tend to over 1500 grapevines on the property and looks forward each fall to harvest time.
Barb Morris purchased this Cottage in 2017
Why Barb Morris chose Camdenton
This property is across the highway from Ward & Barb's home and was purchased to expand the VRBO offerings to include 3 golf course community homes but can also enjoy the serene location and amenities of our other 2 properties located at the Sugarloaf Vineyard.
What makes this Cottage unique
We fell in love with the quiet side of the Lake and especially the Niangua Arm tributary with it's amazing wildlife. During the month February you can often spot as many as 700 great white Pelicans feeding on Lake fish for as long as 2 weeks as they migrate. This actually inspired the name of one of Sugarloaf Vineyards wines; the White Pelican, a dry white Chardonel. Other birdlife includes the great bald eagle, blue herons, egrets, seagulls, hawks, owls and host of other. And of course, several deer like to walk through the golf course at dusk and dawn. It's a great getaway couples setting, or for a small family or, combined with the other 4 Sugarloaf Rental properties, great for reunions or to get away from the city.

We have been renting from these owners for four years now and as always, renting from them is always a pleasure! We love renting from them and would highly recommend them and all 5 of their properties they own!
Thank you Sheralea but the pleasure has been all ours! We are so happy to host your weekend getaways and you have now become "experts" in all the activities the Lake has to offer from hiking at Ha Ha Tonka to water sports, restaurants and shopping! We always look forward to your stay! Thank you so much!...Ward & Barb
We loved our stay. It was very relaxing and peaceful. Enjoyed the size and all the amenities that were offered. Played golf, swam, site seeing, and even played some tennis. Loved having a full kitchen and microwave and having the ability to cook for ourselves. Would highly recommend.
Cottage was super clean, quiet, with great views. The pool and tennis courts were feet from our door. The Trophy Room at Kinderhook Lodge, sand volleyball, and fire pit, were fantastic. We never had to leave!
We had a great time at the cabin. Everything was very clean and we loved the big bathtub!
Beautiful, quiet location
The cottage was the perfect place for our family with 2 young children. The golf course was beautiful and the area was pretty quiet. Swam in the property pool which the kids loved. Took a nice stroll one evening around the pro shop, sand volleyball, and restaurant. Not far from lots of fun things in Camdenton and Osage Beach.
Would like to keep secret 😊
This property was all and more than we were looking for. It was a beautiful, peaceful 25th Anniversary getaway. The cottage was clean, spacious and very welcoming. Proximity to the quiet pool, walks on the golf course and breakfast at the nearby hook cafe were all huge bonuses. Also enjoyed the friendliness of the owners and use of kayaks at Sugarloaf. Can’t say enough good things about this place and ready to go back!
Located at the 12 mile marker of the Big Niangua river tributary of the Lake of the Ozarks near Ha Ha Tonka State Park (great for hiking!). Other attractions include Bridal Cave tours, kayaking the Big Niangua River Trail at Sugarloaf Vineyard Kayaking and 2 golf courses (Old Kinderhook and lake Valley)
