This unique property is a 1930s barn conversion with all the modern amenities. Suitable for one person or a snowbird couple. One bedroom and one bathroom and fully furnished on one level (approximately 600 square feet).

Quiet area. Large deck and yard. Ample parking off the road.

Fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Smart TV. Internet and basic cable provided. Municipal water provided. Heat & lights extra (approximately $150-$200 per month from November to April - heat pump system).

No pets. No smoking. No overnight guests.

Bedroom has one king-sized bed. Bathroom has a large shower, no tub.

This home is suitable for a couple or a single person only.

Walking distance to three wineries. :-)

About the host

My parents purchased the property in the late 1950s and worked the orchard for many years. My piece of the original property is now the last one in our family. It is 3.67 acres that we are converting from tree fruits to a new more sustainable crop (work in progress 2019-2020). My home is a converted barn that was original to the property in the 1920s or 1930s. It was used as a picker's cabin by my family during the 1960s - 1980s to house the workers who would come each fall to help with the apple and pear harvest. In 2010, I began the renovation to make the barn my home and completed it (mostly) by 2016.

Why they chose this property

If you want quiet and privacy, this is your place. It's why I love my home so much. It truly feels like a little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of life. I am proud to be a native of the South Okanagan and love to call this place my home. I am proud to own the last little piece of the land that my parents and grandparents worked so hard to have. Since I travel from October to April each year, I wanted to make this space available to snowbirds who'd like to come to the Okanagan to escape their harsher winters in other parts of Canada. PLEASE NOTE - this property is only available for long terms winter stays of 60 days or more.

What makes this property unique

Minimum stay - 60 days (winter stays only)

This is a unique, eclectic home. Because it was an old barn and not originally built as a home for people, it has lots of character (imperfect walls, odd-ball angles, etc). Rather than strive for perfection when the barn was renovated, we worked with the way it was, accepting the little flaws. This home would not suit visitors who need a pristine, new-build look.
