Beautiful private Umbrian holiday home
Last August our family stayed at this property for two weeks. Overall the experience was exceptional. The house is beautiful, and as a foodie/amateur chef, I loved the stunning kitchen. I stayed with my husband and his family for a few days, then had my parents stay for a while. Everyone was delighted, sipping a sundowner each evening from the outdoor table overlooking the beautiful scenery. A few things to consider:
- the small town nearby has no shops/restaurants. The closest town with a shop is a 10-15 min drive. The small town nearby used to have a restaurant and shop but both of those were closed down in summer 2023, so be aware that, other than the Agriturismo nearby, it’s a good 10-20 min drive to groceries, restaurants
- bugs in the evening. After early dusk, it’s risky to sit outside without long sleeves and bug spray
- pool isn’t heated, so as long as it’s very hot it’s fine but it’s a tad chilly
- by far, the best restaurant was Calagrana. The Uber-fancy resort nearby was good, but a stuffier vibe
- it was cool enough despite no a/c. Having elderly parents visiting, this was a top concern in late August. It wasn’t cool, but it was cool enough and lots of fans provided.
Overall an exceptional stay - would highly recommend if you’re comfortable with issues mentioned above.
