Modern 2300 sq ft waterfront home on a quiet residential street directly on Lake Hickory with a beautiful dock on the main channel and bonus private cove.

Conveniently located in peaceful privacy while just 12 minutes from I-40.

House sleeps 9 adults with 2 additional children comfortably (2 trundle beds).

To the Dock
Walk 300' along a moderately steep winding concrete path to the dock. Some guests may opt to rent a golf cart that can be delivered from a nearby dealer (we can provide more info), especially If grandma or grandpa want to spend a lot of time at the dock or if anyone has hip or knee problems.

Our boat may be lifted in the dock and our jet skis may be docked. Our boat, lift, and jet skis are not included with the rental, however you are welcome to bring your boat or rent one from the local marina. There is space to tie up at the dock.

A key code will be provided for entry, and we are available via phone, text, or email if you have any questions or problems. The front doorbell is also activated with a video feed with audio to enable communication remotely. Please don't hesitate to let us know if anything is needed. For guests arriving between 6 and 9pm, we are happy to meet you upon arrival if desired.

Neighborhood Area
You'll notice the transformation from city to farmland on your last 2 miles to Hickory Cove, enabling your transition to vacation mode relaxation. For your convenience, many grocery stores, retail shopping, urgent care, and restaurants are located within 5 miles for easy access. An equestrian center is very nearby if you are interested in lessons during your stay.

Within 15 minutes is Hickory Furniture Mart, Target, Valley Hills Mall, Academy Sports & Outdoors, and so much more.

Local marinas offer a variety of items and experiences including boat and jet ski rentals, dinner cruises, fishing tournaments, dive trips, and more.

Golf Cars of Hickory and Carolina Custom Golf Carts rent and deliver golf carts if you are interested.

Lake Hickory Adventures offers dinner, party, and private charter boat cruises for any special occasion.

We greatly enjoyed our stay! So clean and we had everything we needed, and more. Beautiful view down at the dock. Be prepared- super steep but made for a good workout coming back up :). The kids loved having the whole downstairs to themselves. Highly recommend!

Perfect for families

Immaculate, recently renovated property with a fantastic host. Can’t imagine a better place for extended family to stay together for a local wedding. Something for everyone, from children’s kayaks to PlayStation. Plenty of room to spread out, but also great common spaces including an enclosed outdoor patio. Would absolutely stay there again.

The BEST lake house!

This lake house has everything you could need or want! The house is incredibly well stocked with extras! The private dock and cove is perfect for swimming! So many fun options for the water! The owner communicated quickly and gave us all the info we could need for a great stay!

Best friend get away!

This was the perfect place to stay with friends! Diane’s house was so clean and comfortable we didn’t want to leave. One of the best vacation rentals we’ve ever stayed in and she made check in to check out very easy. We spent most of our days at the water relaxing. The cove gives you your own private slice of the lake and Diane provides many water toys for your enjoyment. Loved the place, hope to return soon!

Exceptional VRBO

We use VRBO multiple times a year for travel and hands down the BEST listing and property yet. The owners thought of everything that you may need and when I say everything, I mean it. Home was very clean, updated, exactly as described if not better. Quick response time when I had a question and would 100% stay there again and recommend without hesitation! VRBO should pay them to provide classes on how to maintain an excellent stay!!

A slice of heaven on Lake Hickory!

We loved our stay! It was a beautiful, well kept, updated house! The beds were comfy, the towels and sheets were a plenty! We loved the view of the lake. It is a walk down a steep incline to the dock, but totally worth it! We loved the steep walk as a great form of exercise too! We stayed for our daughter's graduation from Lenoir Rhyne! It was a perfect house for the celebration weekend!

A Slice of Lake Life

The house was a bit smaller than we expected, but had everything we needed - it's clean, modern and everything works well! We spent a lot of time on the dock and the screened porch was our favorite spot! The walk to the lake is not for the faint of heart - it is steep, but is good exercise. We would stay again.

It was perfect

This property was perfect and the owners have thought of everything. I hope to visit again someday. We rented a pontoon boat from nearby marina to enjoy the lake, we used one of the property kayaks, some of us just relaxed on the beautiful dock and some of the lazy teens were just happy to lounge in the awesome game room . With a beautiful, spacious, immaculate house, and gorgeous views and lake activities, this is a perfect family vacation spot.

More Than We Expected!

Beautiful home on an amazing piece of property! The house has every amenity you can think of and more! Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The description of the house and amenities were very accurate. Diane was very responsive to my questions and stayed in constant contact throughout the changing travel advisories. She was flexible with our travel plans. It was so nice that we didn’t have to drive to access the lake and could walk to the dock at the bottom of the hill. It was also convenient to the grocery stores. We will keep this on our list of places to return!

Very well equipped home

The home is beautiful and is exceptionally well equipped. Pillows, kitchen equipment, life jackets.... you name it. We rented a pontoon boat for the day and a golf cart for the walk to the dock. We would love to rent the home again

Lake House

Very clean and well outfitted home. Everything was done 1st class with no shortcuts. I would recommend this house to anyone, whether looking for a place to relax in peace or to play in the lake with their kids. The dock was an extension of the quality of the home with comfortable lounge chairs, etc. My picky friends were very complimentary of the house.

Loving Lake Life

We had a great time on our vacation. Due to Covid, we decided to stay at a property that had plenty for everyone to do right on-site. Grandma and Grandpa, Mom and Dad and the kids all kept busy for a week boating, swimming, fishing, watching movies, playing video games and relaxing, all without leaving the house! It was impeccably decorated, incredibly clean, and extremely well-kept. There were multiple areas to hang out, both inside and outside, which worked out well for our group. Communication with the owner was easy and she was super-helpful and easy to work with. Every member of our group said they wouldn't hesitate to return. I highly recommend this property!!

Awesome Property - Highly Recommend!

We had an amazing time at this gem of a lake house! It was spotlessly clean with modern amenities and absolutely everything you might need. Lots of space to spread out as well as to gather. Instructions were conveniently located in numerous places so we could self sufficiently enjoy all the amenities. The little boathouse area on the dock is awesome - fridge, coffee maker, comfortable seating, fishing gear, kayaks - it wasn't a loading zone, but a destination on the property. We spent almost a whole day down there. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the stocked cupboards kept us from running to the store for the odds and ends we forgot to pack. We felt welcomed and relaxed. I highly recommend this diamond on the cove!

Like Being at Home!

This stay was amazing!! First, the property was the best stocked place I've ever stayed. Nothing is worse than getting somewhere and realizing the place doesn't have a wine opener or a baking sheet. This home had everything we needed to eat, clean, lounge, etc. It was extremely clean, I almost hated to put my stuff down. Rooms were as described and plenty of space. The neighborhood is 5-10 minutes from the grocery store, but feels like you're out in the country. The view was incredible, even with our January stay we could enjoy the view from the porch with the fireplace on. Hosts immediately responded to all our questions and made us feel very welcome. They even provided a smore kit! Would recommend to anyone needing a place to stay in the area!!

Amazing Property!

Wow, where to begin! We could not have been more pleased with Hickory Cove, and would give it 10 stars if we could! Diane was an excellent host and very attentive. The house was fully stocked and has everything you could possibly need. The screened in porch upstairs was a great hang out spot for breakfast or just to sit outside to hear / watch the lake. The foosball table and arcade game in the basement were great for the kids (we had a 5, 7, and 13 year old kids in our party) and there was plenty to do for everyone! The boat house was a whole oasis by itself, with a small refrigerator for bait, drinks, etc. We spent several of the days down at the dock. The paved path from the house to the boat house is not for the faint of heart. It’s very steep and you get a great workout in walking up and down that hill. My family rented a GAS golf cart (electric might not make it up the hill) for the week, and that was very helpful getting to the dock and back. We rented a boat for the day and there’s a spot to tie the boat up at the boathouse. The lake was a great temperature and is located on a small cove which allows for private swimming. Hickory is a great little town with food and grocery options just 5-10 mins from the house. We will no doubt be back, and can’t wait to rent this house again!

Beautiful Stay

The house suited our needs perfectly and was a real joy. My only caution is the winding steep path to the dock, for fairly active adults it was an adventure with a spectacular reward at the end, but even we had doubts about doing it too many times. Otherwise, the host was great; clear and prompt in communication and the house very well kept. Would absolutely recommend.

We explored many lakes in NC and VA and settled on Lake Hickory because of its cleanliness, size - not too big for overcrowding but big enough for all the amenities, and the relaxed, peaceful atmosphere.

What makes this property unique

The view and peacefulness of the screened in porch with a morning cup of coffee or tea is extra special. If it is a bit cool, the fireplace is ready to take the chill off.

The lower level game room is a great place to gather for movie night, a game of foosball or darts, or walk out to the patio with the grill and nearby fire-pit offering a relaxing evening gathering place.
