Great fully stocked home located right on Gun Lake! There are 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The main floor has a bedroom, full bathroom, laundry, kitchen, dining room, and living room. The upstairs offers 2 main bedrooms, one walkthrough bedroom with a desk setup, and1 full bathroom. There is a long aluminum dock with steps down to the water and plenty of space for you to dock your boat. The beautiful sandy swim area is only a few feet deep at the entrance, making it perfect for your little ones. Enjoy taking out our standup paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and experience great fishing right off the dock. The fire pit is wonderful for hanging out at night and cooking s'mores. The side yard is great for yard games and grilling out. There is also a sand box for kids to play in.

The home has a long driveway with plenty of parking (5+ vehicles) and a two-stall garage. Also, central AC, WIFI, TV with ROKU stick, roll away crib, highchair, fully stocked kitchen all linen provided, towels, washer & dryer, firewood is included and a gas grill.

Plenty of water toys, 2 paddle boards, 1 canoe, 2 kayaks, plenty of life jackets, 4 bicycles, inflatables, and lots of games. This will be a family vacation stay to remember!

Wonderful time!

We all had a great time! The house and amenities were outstanding. Grandparents, parents, and kids were all comfortable. The kids enjoyed the kayaks! Would recommend this home to a family!

Wonderful Lake House

We had an incredible time! The house was wonderful, had everything we needed, and then some. If you are looking for a place to relax and have family fun on Gun Lake, you can’t beat this property. Check in was a breeze, and the owners were incredibly responsive. We’ll be back!

Lakehouse getaway before welcoming a new baby!

Our stay was absolutely lovely. The house was clean and everything we needed. The lake was beautiful and we caught some big fish. We even brought a smaller dog with us who loved the house. Perfect for a weekend getaway. The host was also trying accommodating when it came to renting the pontoon and giving us information.

Perfect family vacation on Gun Lake

We spent 5 days at Jakes cottage and we had a wonderful time. The cottage was perfect for our family. We love the location, the swimming area, and all the water toys/kayaks available. Jake is great to work with, very responsive. We rented the pontoon boat as well which made the vacation so much better. We appreciate that he allowed us to bring the dog. We will definitely be returning to Jakes cottage next year! Highly recommend.

Michigan trip!

I don’t even know where to begin but to just say that this little lake house was the perfect place for us to call home for the few days we were there after traveling in from Oklahoma for a family reunion! My boys and I felt incredibly blessed to have found this amazing little retreat! It had everything one could have asked for and more and our host was phenomenal! Highly recommend!

Can’t say enough good things about this property and our host, Jake. The house was perfect—the decor was lovely and the house was so clean and well appointed. From beginning to end, Jake was a response and attentive host. We had one small issue which was taken care of within 30 minutes. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Lake Getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay on Gun Lake! Perfect getaway from Chicagoland suburbs (less than 3 hrs) and more than enough room for 4 of us & our dog. Great for fishing & just relaxing on the dock & on the lake. We rented a pontoon from Gun Lake rentals, but will rent Jake’s boat next time for convenience (oversight on our part!) Jake was very responsive & check-in was super easy. I recommend stocking up on grocery’s @ Tom’s just 1/2 mile down the road. Fresh & frozen meat for the grill, and anything else you could want. All in all, a great trip.

Unwind and Relax😊

Our stay was amazing. The house itself had everything we needed to keep us busy and entertained. From baking pans and board games. The deck had a nice sit down area for entertainment and just to be still and enjoy a cup of coffee. Our kids had a blast using the kayaks and using the fishing poles. It has something for everyone. My 7 kids ages 6,9,11,11,13,15,16 loved it and will definitely be back. Close to attractions to Kalamazoo and G. Rapids. We recommend to go to the Air Zoo museum in Kalamazoo. It is suitable for all ages.

Fun times at Gun Lake

The cottage was very nice and had a lot of lake toys to use, i.e. Kayaks, paddle boards, etc. We used it all, there was even a little "big wheel" that my grand daughter used to tool up and down the driveway. The view was great and the water front especially nice with shallow water and a sandy bottom, my whole family enjoyed a fun volleyball game in the water. We had 8 Adults, a 5 year old, 10 mo and 1 mo old, the cottage worked out great for our family. Thanks again Jake

My husband and I had water damage at our house, we stayed at this property while construction took place at home. Jake has been extremely accommodating and responsive! I requested to book with only one days notice and he worked with me very quickly! The cleanliness of the house when we entered was immaculate! Everything is updated and pretty, the beds are all comfy and the shower is relaxing! Definitely a perfect get away from our torn apart house! The one small thing was that the listing mentions a hottub, this was an issue with VRBO, but we still loved our stay! 10/10 recommend!

So much fun on Gun Lake! The house was great with everything you need inside and out. Plenty of water toys and a perfect lake front to use them. Really nice dock and clear water with sandy bottom. Thanks for a great stay!

Well Appointed, Comfortable, Relaxing Lakeside Retreat

We really enjoyed our stay here. We had plenty of room for 7 adults to sleep comfortably and only left the property to float on the pontoon boat we rented for our stay. The property had everything we needed to cook with, was stocked with some fire wood to get us started & had plenty of propane for the grill. We loved the location and the usability of the lake, it was clear and plenty shallow for floating and relaxing without having to find a public beach or sand bar. This is our second rental on Gun Lake and hands down the best experience we have had so far, looking forward to visiting again in the future!

Great place to stay

My family and I stayed here this past week (June 2022). The house is well taken care of, is clean, and has a Beautiful view of Gun Lake. There are kayaks, paddle boards, and bikes that we all used. I highly recommend this house.

Amazing lakehouse memories!

The lakehouse, scenery, neighborhood, accomadations and amenities were great. The space for 6 adults, 1 teen, a 9 & 6 yr old & Qweenie (our doggy)was perfect. Food (lots of it), some personal supplies, a couple of fire logs were all we needed for our stay. The location took some adjusting to, but we did. Our neighbor Bob was great, becasue of him we woke up to a view of beautiful birds, ducks and squirrels every morning (thank you Bob). We enjoyed the snow, the lake views (frozen or not) making smorfs on the fire pit, watching movies and playing games. We made lots of beautiful memories at the lakehouse, lots of firsts for each of us, even our Qweenie. Our family christmas vaca at the lakehouse was amazing.. We would love to return someday. A big THANK YOU to our great host Jake.

Beautiful home and lake!

We stayed in this wonderfully decorated and furnished home for 10 days in October. Though the weather was a bit wet at times, the house was warm and comfortable. Plenty of room for 3 adults and two small dogs. The sunrises and sunsets over Gun Lake were beautiful to watch.

Gun Lake Fun in the Sun

Perfect house to decompress from work. Enjoyed. all of the sunshine and piece and quiet. My youngest dog enjoyed the water especially. since it was so shallow. Great location with lots of hiking around. I would definitely stay again. .

Can we come back again?

5 of us rented Jake's property on Gun Lake for a girls weekend. The water is very shallow and clear. Plenty of water toys in the garage (the stand up paddle board worked well to sit on and just hang out in the water.) We had amazing weather for mid September! Jake was very responsive. We had some last minute changes and he was accommodating and friendly. The house had everything we needed. We grilled out one night, cooked in the kitchen and went out another night (I would skip BayPoint if I were to go back again.) As everyone else has already mentioned, Neighbor Bob is very friendly and helpful. A few of us sat out at the driveway bon fire with the neighbors and had a great time. Overall, a wonderful experience and I hope to be able to go back again next year.

Summer vacation at Gun Lake

The updates are very nice and the downstairs floor plan makes much more sense. Nice to see the lake from living, dining, and kitchen and to have all open together. Nice to have downstairs bedroom off to the back and private. New dock especially with the stairs made it much easier to get in & out of lake. As always, beautiful, sandy, shallow lake bottom and so nice to be able to have our dogs! Thank you so much!

Family trip with 7 adults & 3 little kids

Family trip with 7 adults & 3 little kids. A little tight but it worked fine! Lots of outdoor lake equipment, nicely remodeled, good location, friendly neighbor, plenty of hot water for showers. Kitchen reasonably stocked with supplies. A/C worked great. Owner was responsive. Rented a pontoon boat from Gun Lake Rentals, walked some trails nearby, lots of swimming with sandy shallow waters & bonfires, over all had a good time! Shower upstairs could use some work & we had to do a little extra cleaning when we arrived but other than that everything was good!

House was very clean. Lake was great! The lake was sandy and shallow. We couldn’t get our two year old out of the water.

Why they chose this property

This cottage is located directly on Gun Lake which is the largest lake in West MI! There is lots of room for parking with an attached double stall garage. The water is shallow and all sand in front of the home that is great for small kids and a fun sandbox for them to play in. The custom firepit is great for making dinners over and s'mores! The yard is great for lawn games. Have some fun in the water with our kayaks, inflatables and canoe. The long dock is great for sunbathing and you can easily park your boat! And once you get hungry there are tons of local restaurants to choose from and a casino nearby!
