Uzès is the 1st duchy of France, classified n ° 2 by The Guardian (n ° 1 CapeTown) as the best holiday destination, has a crazy charm. Its large safeguarded district allows many walks on foot to meet many historic buildings, but also many shops.
Its dynamism makes it possible to take advantage of numerous activities in season, but also throughout the year (WE of the truffle, votive festivals with Guardian etc ...) every Sunday flea market and book fair ... .
Very recently, excavations have just brought to light vestiges of the Roman past of Uzès with magnificent mosaics which seem to have been the ground of the residence of a notable of the 1st century BC ...
In the surroundings, you will find many villages renowned for their characters and their beauty (Saint Quentin la Poterie ...), as well as a magnificent nature, allowing the cultivation of famous products (olive oil, fruits, vegetables, asparagus, vineyards). The region is renowned for its wines at affordable prices.
Nearby is a jewel: the Roman aqueduct Pont du Gard, listed as World Heritage by Unesco.
You can also visit Nîmes (25 km), Avignon (35 km), Les Baux de Provence, Arles (65 km), Marseille and the Cévennes ....
