An amazing surrounding with a beautiful cabin to stay in!
The first time me and the family have ever stayed in a cabin and the experience was amazing, the Loch Awe was a beautiful place and the cabin was a great place to stay in, the hot tub was a great touch and the help from Irene was excellent in assisting with our needs.
Beautiful location- cabin smelt of 'dog'
The drive, the scenery, everything about the area is stunning! Blessed with lovely dry weather. The cabin is extremely well equipped and everything you would expect from a log cabin. Quiet and very warm.
The only things that put a big negative on our stay; overpowering smell of 'dog when you enter the cabin, smells and feels in need of a deep clean, floor sticky and did not want to take shoes off, the sofa as well smelt awful (our own blankets stank our car out on the way home!)
We paid £63 extra for the hot tub, but needed 3 extra bags of wood and had to pay another £30!!
We also paid £50 extra for 2 extra people half of the stay (still within cabin max occupancy) this was apparently for the extra bedding etc, I had to dig around for quilts and pillows, once found I then had to request the pillow cases, sheets and quilt cover.
All in all an amazing break and would highly recommend the area. Warning to non-pet owners, may want to go for a non-pet friendly place. Extras charges misleading and not very fair.
Claire & family
I really wish you'd have contacted myself or Irene while you were at the cabin, we would have had these issues sorted for you in a jiffy. We do inform guests at check-in that if anything at all is not to their liking to let us know and we will attend to it immediately.
Our cleaning standards are usually very high but sometimes we have limited time between guests checking out and guests checking in and some guests leave the cabins in an awful mess.
If you'd just let us know we could have made your stay much more comfortable.
Great lodge. Kids loved it.
The lodge had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Only downside is the B road leading to the lodge Park was too long!
Thanks for your review & glad you enjoyed your stay.
I'm afraid the B road from Taynuilt is the small price we pay for solitude and stunning, unspoiled scenery.
Great place to relax and re charge your batteries !
The lodge was just what we wanted for our few days relaxation .. perfectly equipped .. all you need to take is towels
The wooden hot tub was fab and made us think about changing ours to one of them 😁
The little shop / cafe on site had lots of essentials which is great
We had dinner at the Kilchrenan Inn which was amazing and all the better for being a dog friendly place
I'd definately recommend the site for other couples with or without dogs ! Our kids came too but they are 24 and 25 (!!) and they loved just chilling out too .. not sure if there's much for younger children though
We will definately be looking at booking up again
Cabin good, location ideal
Totally spoiled with weather, sun & blue sky for the duration of our stay. The site by Loch Awe was lovely, quiet & remote, exactly what we wanted. Cabin perfectly adequate, and could take our family dog which was perfect. Hot tub took a little getting used to, but was great to have. Would recommend this cabin
Beautiful cabin in remote location.
The photos really do not do this cabin justice as it is beautiful. It is very remote so I would take the owners advice and stock up on your way with food supplies (we didn't starve). We had an evening meal at the Loch View Inn (only open thurs-sun) and although dubious at first we all really enjoyed it (the sticky toffee pud was delish). Do try out the hot tub, awesome. Beautiful scenery, walks, we had a day in Oban (took just less than an hour to get there). We would definitely stay again!! Thank you :-)
I'm just sorry I didn't have time to write in your guest book. If you fancy trip away from the hustle and bustle then this is it.
This unique location was created by the forestry commission as a place of tranquillity, amid outstanding scenery. In addition to the peace and quiet of the log cabin locations the surrounding area provides an amazing natural playground with forests, burns, rivers, castles, mountains and lochs to explore and enjoy. The area has a proliferation of walks, cycle routes and local attractions, has an abundance of wildlife and is a world renowned destination for anglers
