Peaceful Retreat, Centrally Located, Fun!
We spent a week at Trulli Pecorino and thoroughly enjoyed the house, the pool and the location for exploring the many great towns of Puglia and beyond. After exploring all day we were equally happy to get home and cool off in our own private pool. Everything you need is provided, including linens and towels at no additional charge! And NO annoying hassles over deposit fees or surprises about additional expenses required upon arrival in cash only. The owners and staff are also incredibly friendly, helpful and responsive.
Secure wifi was provided and worked well. One item to note, there are no speakers in the house, so if you want to stream music, bring your own portable speakers.
The nearby town center of Ceglie Messapica is pleasant with a few great places to dine. There is also a macelleria and upscale restaurant within a few kilometers of the house on the nights you don't feel like cooking or driving into town.
If you want a hassle free vacation home away from home, Trulli Pecorino is for you.
Thank you Shelley . . . so pleased that you had a fab time at TrulliPecorino. American to Americans, we know how it's done for hassle-free holiday rentals :) Glad you enjoyed your time in Puglia and we were able to assist along the way.
A Comfortable and Well-Equipped Trullo
This trullo had all the comforts and facilities required for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. Directions and information guidelines were very useful - local help and support was available (if needed) in addition to that provided by the owners before we left the UK. The property is ideally suited for all the local sights and there are many restaurants and attractions within a short distance.
The only drawback for us was having to pay the fees in Euros rather than Sterling. The banks tend to use different exchange rates than those generally advertised.
Thank you Michael. Glad you had an enjoyable and relaxing time . . . and that TrulliPecorino provided you a comfortable base for this and exploring the local area.
Peaceful retreat for a relaxing family holiday
We spent a wonderful fortnight in Trulli Pecorino. The accommodation is modern and has been very tastefully and thoughtfully furnished with lots of little touches to make life easier. We stayed with our three children (ages 3, 8 and 9) and had ample space, even with the extra camp bed kindly provided in one bedroom.
The structure of the trulli somehow means it remained at a very comfortable temperature and air conditioning not an issue.
Glenn was great from the very beginning of the booking process and throughout. Both he and Annalisa were always on hand or promptly at the end of an email if needed with friendly and sympathetic advice and help on any matter from making restaurant bookings in Italian to "family friendly" beach visits and parking and so on...
The location amongst the olive groves assures absolute peace and quiet, as well as the clever design of the pools allowing privacy. Plenty of space for the children to roam around safely and enjoy plenty of fun in the well-maintained pool.
You will need a car for everything, no local bakery within walking distance, but for us that was a fair trade for the peaceful location.
We followed advice in other reviews and visited Ostuni, Alberobello, Locorotondo and Matera-all fantastic. Our favourite beach was undoubtedly Torre Guaceto, it was a trek but the snorkelling in this peaceful sheltered cove was worth it. On Glenn's recommendation we also enjoyed a great day at Beach Club Viars-apparently more sand for the kids than at other clubs and definitely much more space on the beach (a big issue when you are trying to keep an eye on a speedy toddler and two other children). We felt much more secure without the crowds on the rest of the beach.
We all thoroughly enjoyed two evening meals at Annalisa's family restaurant, an authentic and delicious experience. The children enjoyed meeting the farm animals amongst other treats and we were also lucky enough to have a cookery lesson!
We would absolutely recommend this property. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and Puglia, another amazing area of this wonderful country where you definitely feel like you're in Italy as opposed to other "tourist destinations" in Europe.
Thank you T Family. It was a pleasure meeting you and am am very pleased that you had a most enjoyable stay in Puglia and at TrulliPecorino. It's very satisfying to share our local knowledge to enhance our guests' stay . . . and it makes me very happy that you were able to take up many of my recommendations and found them to meet your specific needs. Hope you have the pleasure of returning again in the not-too-distant future. Glenn
Glorious holiday in Glorious Ostuni
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. The Tullo itself was beautifully renovated. We had a wonderful holiday.
The surroundings were very rustic, no disturbances as pretty far from town. Idyllic.
The rather was amazing, and earn right through till evenings which were spent lazing around drinking, eating and chatting outside.
The pool a welcome escape from the heat ; a great space to relax and read a book but also big enough to have a good swim.
A Perfect spot for bbq'ing - we enjoyed fresh fish and meats each night.
Also loved the beach club culture, good days out to the beach on a couple of occasions.
Ostuni the town itself is picture postcard with its winding streets, so pretty at night with fabulous restaurants and bars, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you Niki and Family --- so glad you had an enjoyable stay and got to experience Puglian countryside living AND beach culture. Hope to see you back sometime soon.
We had a great time
We loved staying in such a beautiful setting. Peace and quiet with all the modern conveniences you'd expect. Glenn was very helpful making useful recommendations for restaurants and hotels. Well situated for exploring pretty Italian towns and historical sights - whilst only 20 minutes from the coast. Rather too much gelato consumed - but then when in Rome and all that!
Thanks Paul and Emmanuelle . . . so glad you had a great time and I was able to sort you with a hotel in Gallipoli and share some of my favourite restaurants. Hope you have opportunity to return in the not-too-distant future. Glenn
Smart, peaceful, relaxing rural trulli
We had a great ten days at TP. It's very peaceful, in the middle of olive groves, and a great place to relax by the pool and read a book. It's near to several beautiful hilltop towns which have great markets, local shops and restaurants.
Glenn the owner was very helpful; living nearby he was able to offer us advice and guidance.
Would highly recommend it.
Tranquil and private Puglian countryside with in-ground pool, set on nearly 1 hectare (2 acres) of olive/fruit grove and other Mediterranean plants -- yet easily accessible (10-15 min by car) -- to hilltop towns of Ostuni, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica and Martina Franca, and must-see UNESCO World Heritage sites - Alberobello (45 min) and Matera (1 hr 45 min). OSTUNI BEACHES: 20 MIN by CAR. ZooSafari amusement park for children nearby. Gorgeous beaches. Lecce, Gallipoli, Otranto, Santa Maria de Leuca make for excellent 1/2 or full day excursions.
For the kids: ZooSafari and Aquapark (both located near Fasano) are 35 minute drives
Briindisi Aiport: 35min
Bari Airport: 1hr 10min
