Nice cabin getaway
We really enjoyed our stay. We got a large cabin to host a small family get together one day over the weekend, and it was perfect for that. The younger members had a downstairs area. And the older guests could enjoy the upstairs. It was close enough to Atlanta that some of the family was also able to come back and enjoy some of the nearby attractions on another day. I was pretty excited to find a sasquatch museum up the road. I will say that the porch area is more weather worn than the pictures, and there is a cabin uphill within earshot. The road and driveway are steep and and narrow and turning around in a truck is kinda rough. You can park more than 2 cars (we had 2 cars and a truck one day), just make sure to plan your exit. The hot tub was clean, although my husband and I were sensitive to the chemicals and found it hard to breathe. I found the emails from sandy very useful, and the checkout process was very easy
TLDR: nice cabin good for family, porch areas could use some touch ups, narrow steep drive not always paved. Easy check in and check out.
We are so happy our guests enjoyed their stay. We scheduled cabin/decks/porches re staining in March, April and May, however, bad weather prevented painting. We then had back to back bookings. We were able to book 10 days, beginning today, to pressure wash and have all re stained. Cabin/ decks and porches had been stained 3 years ago, however, harsh weather takes its toll. I have the housekeeper use a hot tub treatment which is rated as the best for sanitizing, yet easy on the skin. When cabins are near the top of a mountain,, and have a view, the drive up to the cabin can seem a bit steep to those not used to mountain areas.
Our family really enjoyed our stay! The kids loved the hot tub and there was more than enough room for everyone. Blue Ridge is a great little town and we look forward to coming back.
Great decks with wonderful views
Enjoyed our stay very much. Spent lots of time on the decks and screen porch. Loved the old pine paneling through out. Conveniently located. Accurately described and owner was very responsive.
We enjoyed the cabin and the amenities provided. It was nice to relax in the hot tub or just sit on one of the decks. We also enjoyed playing pool. We had to replace the tips for the pool cues but that is probably due to the prior renters use.
The power went out the day we arrived, and Sandy was helpful in checking the website to determine the reason. She then kept us updated as to the power outage status. A large area was hit by the outage. She was very helpful and we appreciated it.
The main reason I did not give 5's across the board is because Sandy was rude to me the day we checked in. If a renter fails to remember something they read, verbally chastising them is not appropriate. The other communication issue is her use of all caps. Most people see all caps as written yelling.
Other than that, the other things we saw were minor and not worth mentioning.
We are always thrilled when guests enjoy their stay. I am sorry the guest thought I was rude to her. We had a very bad connection when we spoke. They were on the wrong level of the cabin for the lock box . She said she did not print the information for directions and key, and I emphasized it was important to do so, especially if returning to the cabin after dark. I walked her through finding the lock box and waited until they had the key. I have never had a guest say I was rude. When there was the major power outage, I obtained updates from the power company and texted her every 30 minutes. I do use capital letters for things like what guests may want to bring, no fire in fire pit on windy days, power outages, what to do if power outage and wi fi needs to be reset.
Great mountaintop view!
We so enjoyed our stay at this cabin. We felt secluded in the woods, but you're not too far away from town and adventures. I hope to return one day.
Beautiful views and great location. Many great places to visit with just a short car ride. Getting up the mountain was a bit of a challenge as well as turning around to get back down. Great directions and information provided by the owners. We will visit again!
