About this property

Endless views, secluded, private, saltwater pool, hot tub, sauna, close to park!

Wonder Valley Ranch is a 3-acre sprawling homestead compound in a vintage wild west setting just minutes away from Joshua Tree National Park, restaurants and groceries.

This is a private desert resort ideal for groups to entertain and relax together and then retreat to private spaces. Privacy and isolation with fantastic views, stunning sunrises and sunsets and stargazing that is unmatched.

The most common feedback we hear... "this is a magical property!"

3 Residences include the main house, the pool house and the cabin. Fully fenced.

INTERIORS
Each residence has a fully stocked kitchen loaded with cooking supplies, olive oil, balsamic and red wine vinegar, a collection of spices and coffee from the local favorite Joshua Tree Coffee Company. We have a Cuisinart Mixer, Vitamix blender and multiple drip coffee makers include a Bonavita. Lovely dishes and cocktail sets round out the kitchen as a delight to relax, cook and entertain in.

Designed in an eclectic modern style that pays homage to the high desert while hitting maximum comfort and visually inspiring details.

AC/Heating units in each room/structure. Bathrooms are fully stocked with comfortable towels, washcloths, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hair dryers, q-tips and cotton pads.

MAIN HOUSE:
2 Bedrooms and 2 Baths. Primary bedroom has a king bed and en suite bathroom with huge shower and deep soaking tub. The guest room has a king bed, large closet and plenty of storage space. The guest bathroom is gorgeous... with a huge walk in shower.

There's a pullout sofa that can accommodate 2 people. Wireless bluetooth speaker with great sound is in the living room.

THE CABIN:
An open space with a bedroom/living room, with king bed, futon, kitchen and a bathroom. Wireless bluetooth speaker is in the cabin.

POOL HOUSE:
This is the mothership. The entertainment center of the property. An open space with a very comfortable queen mattress in a Murphy bed. Fireplace, large kitchen, bathroom, Swedish dry sauna and outdoor shower. Firewood is provided. Wireless bluetooth speaker is in the pool house.

OUTDOOR AREAS:
At the pool house is a 20 X 40 foot heated saltwater pool with several seating areas, poolside loungers, huge outdoor dining tables and a large, nicely shaded covered patio. Outdoor shower and Swedish dry sauna are not to be missed. Propane BBQ with plenty of propane on hand.

The main house and cabin each have a front patio with seating.

In the center of the property... gather around the fire pit - firewood provided - sip on some cocktails, play bocce ball, cornhole or horseshoes.

Multiple outdoor seating areas in a rural setting allows for intensely dark skies with unimaginable stargazing and a magical experience. The compound is set up to easily gather with friends and family and then retreat to the privacy of your own space for those glorious afternoon desert naps or relaxing with a great book. This is a one of a kind property.

The high desert... it comes to life with it's own special magic. Fantastic sunrises and sunsets, desert critters including jack rabbits, tortoise, road runners and others call this place home.

You get total privacy and seclusion yet only a short drive to the Joshua Tree National Park entrance. So many other things to explore and do... rock climbing, mountain biking, dirt biking and ATV... killer vintage shops and great little restaurants. This is the spot where pioneers laid claims to a hotbed of gold mining and other Wild West ranch action.

We love dogs and welcome them at our home. Please note, however, we do have a limit of 2 dogs and we charge a fee of $50 for the first pet and $25 for the second for the additional cleaning, wear and tear

Joshua Tree Thanksgiving Getaway
The property was perfect for our group of 8 adults. Everything was well maintained and the pool, sauna and outdoor shower was enjoyed by all. At night we enjoyed sitting around the campfire. Recommend hiking in Joshua Tree and a night at Kitchen in the Desert!

Good property for 4 couples
Having the 4 bedrooms divided between 3 buildings was good because it gave a mixture of communal spaces and private spaces. Nighttime stargazing was amazing with all the lights turned off, and the pool was a nice respite from the blazing heat during the day. A couple of touches I really appreciated were a good supply of spices in the kitchens and plenty of pool towels. The main negative was frequent drops in water pressure (slow to a trickle). The host was very responsive but ultimately I came to realize that the intermittent water problems were just part of the reality of a desert property reliant on well water. Annoying, but not necessarily a deal-breaker. Note that the pool house consists of an indoor half-bath and an outdoor shower. Based on my reading of the property listing, I was expecting an indoor bath (not half-bath) plus an outdoor shower. The property served us well as a home base near Joshua Tree National Park and a place to celebrate a birthday with friends. I would consider staying again.

Spectacular trip
We had an amazing experience! It was extremely hot and the pool was where we chose to spend all of our time. It was everything we expected and we hope to come back in the future but maybe not in the summer....it is VERY hot.

Birthday under the stars
I invited four couples to enjoy two nights under the stars to celebrate my birthday. Our friend who is a chef prepared us spectacular meals and we ate together in the main dining room. In the evenings we sat around the large fire pit gazing at the carpet of stars drifting overhead. Every one, including our friends who only do high end accommodations, found the setting absolutely stunning. Brian is a fantastic host - quick to reply to any request and alway eager to help. We’ll be back!

My family had been living in Los Angeles with a 2nd home in Joshua Tree, specifically this property... The Wonder Valley Ranch.

Covid arrived and we decamped to Wonder Valley. We've always loved visiting... but had never lived full time in the open desert. It was a revelation... each day brought magic... sunrises and sunsets that could not be ignored, desert wildlife and colors that are just not seen in other places. The solitude and space to live and breath was the impetus for us to move to the area full time.

My business is real estate and I fell in love with the rural properties and the joy that these properties would bring to so many people. So, I did a pivot and moved from working with investors buying multi-family buildings to those who were interested in rural properties as either 2nd homes or investments... usually both. And I've not regretted my decision for one moment.

We live in Joshua Tree... a short drive from the Wonder Valley Ranch.

Why they chose this property

It's magical. Really... there's some kind of special energy that flows through this property. The organization of the buildings allows for both gathering together and privacy. The pool, the landscaping, the 360 views and the silence that has it's own sound... this remains one of my favorite properties I've spent time at...

What makes this property unique

Privacy, solitude, a thoughtful organization of space, buildings and landscaping allow for a magical experience.
