De aankomst was prima. Na een lange reis per auto hebben we onderweg al contact gehad met de eigenaresse. Bij aankomst stond ze ons op te wachten bij het echt lieve, zelfgebouwde huisje. Het is er knus, we hadden er gelijk een goed gevoel bij. Stukje groen rondom het huis, vlak bij de rivier die Kroatië scheidt van Slovenië, midden tussen de nationale parken, waar bos ook nog echt bos is. We hebben alle service gehad die je kunt verzinnen, alles was of werd geregeld.

We werden door de gastvrouw heel goed ontvangen. Niettegenstaande ze hoogzwanger was, en zelfs tijdens ons verblijf is bevallen, heeft ze ons nadat ze terug thuis was, nog geholpen om info te geven betreffende dokter en ziekenhuis omdat onze kleine zich niet goed voelde. Uiteindelijk was het niet nodig. Ze was heel erg begaan. We hebben van onze vakantie genoten. Ook mooie omgeving. Er is geen wifi en enkel TV met plaatselijke zenders. Maar voor ons hoefde dit niet. En aangezien roaming in Europa goedkoop is geworden, kan je gerust een krant downloaden en contact met het thuisfront houden.

We zijn met open armen ontvangen bij onze aankomst in Brod na Kupi. Dankzij een voorspoedige reis waren we veel eerder dan gepland op de plaats van bestemming. Toen we belden om te vragen of we eerder konden komen was dat geen enkel probleem. We konden dus al om 1400 uur in ons paradijsje terecht in plaats van om, zoals was afgesproken 1600 uur. De vriendelijke eigenaresse deed een duidelijke rondleiding door het huis. Alles was aanwezig en als we iets nodig hadden even bellen of een smsje sturen en ze zou er voor zorgen. Het huisje heeft een zeer gezellige knusse uitstraling. Het ligt aan de rand van het zeer rustige gehucht Golik. Uitermate geschikt voor stellen die van rust en de natuur houden. Omgeven door een ruime tuin met een schitterende overkapte buitenkeuken kun je hier de dagen bijna volledig buiten genieten. Door de gunstige ligging kun je 's morgens in de zon voor het huis ontbijten. Wil je liever in de schaduw zitten dan kun je in de overkapte buitenkeuken genieten van je ontbijt. Het uitzicht is op beide plaatsen fantastisch. Jij kijkt uit op de dicht beboste heuvels van Slovenië. De rest van de dag kun je met de zon of schaduw meedraaien zoals je wilt, als je thuis wilt blijven. De omgeving, echter, is overweldigend groen en mooi. Zagreb, Plitvice meren en zelfs Pula zijn binnen 2 auto uren te bereiken. Zeker een bezoek waard. Rijeka binnen 1 uur. De natuur hebben we verkend op de fiets, mountainbikes die bij het huisje zaten, super, te voet door naar het dichtbij gelegen nationaal park Risnjak te rijden en naar Zelen I Vir, de duivelskloof. De laatste ligt letterlijk om de hoek. We zijn 10 dagen geweest, achteraf veel te kort. We komen volgend jaar terug. Ben je op zoek naar een paradijsje, zoek dan maar niet verder. Brod na Kupi iis the place to be.
