About John & El
Originally from the the east coast (the great state of new York), as well as the "left coast" (We love San Francisco!)...we fell in love with the Turks and Caicos on a vacation years ago, and decided we just had to have a piece of this paradise for our own!
Why John & El chose Grace Bay
This is a resort that is not congested at all and has one of thee most vast beach front areas! The one bedroom deluxe unit is more "side to side" as opposed to "front and back" so you get an awesome view from both the living areas as well as the master bedroom!
What makes this Condo unique
The minute we got off that plane and heard the warmth of the steel drums, we knew we were in the best place possible for a relaxing vacation. Waking up each and every morning to the light sounds of the waves touching the sand and the balmy breeze is something that makes you really enjoy life!

Perfect place to stay in TCI
Just returned from a week long vacation, first week of July. The property was everything we hoped for. Comfortable, with every amenity you need and in a perfect location, 100 yards from the beach. Made it easy to go back and forth between the condo and the beach to get drinks, snacks, etc. The beach is spectacularly beautiful and having your own VIP section is great. The "beach butlers" are really nice guys and can get anything you need, although we found it easier to just go back to the condo to get food. And it's great to be on a resort property but not be limited to the "inclusive" nature of the meals at Alexandra Resort.
Maybe the best part of the property, however, is the ease and timeliness of communication with its owners, El and John. El was always available, incredibly easy to work with and answered every question we had. They've done a good job of making their property a home away from home - the basket of breakfast foods and snacks is a particularly nice touch. Overall, the best experience we've ever had through VRBO/HomeAway/Air B&B.
Some island recommendations:
Rent a car. It's fun to explore and see the other parts of the island and learning to drive on the other side of the road is a new adventure (you'll pick it up quickly). Also nice to drive down to the main restaurant area of Grace Bay Drive.
Groceries are easy - IGA is decent but we found Graceway Gourmet to be much better. Food prices pretty similar at each and Graceway Gourmet has a nicer feel to it - think Whole Foods compared to regular grocery.
Restaurants. You can eat very well in TCI. We had a number of fantastic meals and the variety of places is surprisingly rich for a Caribbean Island. Some of our favorites:
The Landing - right on Grace Bay road and has a beach feel to it even though it's on the opposite side of the road (they have a sand floor). Excellent food and service - try the lamb lollipops
Cocovan - Fun to sit out at the food truck area of Coco Bistro. Great place for tacos and a beer.
Bella Luna - Surprisingly great Italian food and funky decor if you eat upstairs at the full restaurant - it's like you're in the middle of a tree house. Didn't have the pizza from downstairs but heard it's the best on the island.
Solana, down at Grace Bay Club. Great beach side location and Asian fusion food.
Parallel 23. Next door at the Palms Resort. Beautiful setting, great service and excellent food.
Doesn't get much better...
From the booking to our check-out, we had a fantastic experience. El was a gracious host and communicator. The space, especially the kitchen, had everything and more you'd need. The location on Grace Bay is ideal to relax or stroll to plenty of dinners. Some cited problems or challenges with the new ownership and the all-inconclusive visitors but we did not experience that. We will certainly return.
OMG the perfect vacation paradise!
Well I could go on forever, it's just awesome. First the condo is beautiful, very spacious, SUPER comfy bed and has everything you'd ever want, including a great view of the beach and ocean. There was a great 'welcome kit' of rum punch, coffee, eggs and other goodies we enjoyed out on the huge deck. This unit is one of the few at Alexandra that are independently managed, and it's the way to go, as it's a much better value and you don't get roped into having to eat at the same restaurant every meal. The 'VIP Beach club' which is exclusive to these few units is staffed by helpful, very friendly beach butlers who took our food and drink requests and brought them to us from a local restaurant. There's plenty of beach chairs, toys and everything on this separate part of the beach, and it just felt more private and classy. The property managers were friendly, helpful and fun as well and told us all the good spots to go for food, drinking, shopping all of which were close by. We got a car, and glad we did as it just makes it easier to get around more quickly, although we took plenty of great beach walks as well. We're already planning our next trip back. Go!
We had the best experience renting this place! The condo has a lovely view of ocean-nicely decorated and has everything you will need to stay! So many suggestions and ideas of places to eat and visit - super helpful owner!! Friendly terrific place! We will be back again !! I can’t rave enough on the condo, the location, and the Island!!
Great location close to everything! Ocean is the clearest we've seen anywhere and we travel often. Host was excellent and quick to respond when we had any questions. Very convenient having a full kitchen, dishwasher, AND two bathrooms!
Unit was exactly as advertised . Comfy , clean and well appointed. Contact person (Elen) took care of details right up to our occupying unit and was available if we needed anything during our stay . Security deposit was refunded immediately upon departure . Would definitely rent again .
On site Tennis Court, beachcombers, and snorkel equipment!
