Our apartment is situated five minutes walk from the nearest mini market; ten minutes walk from the nearest supermarket (Aldi) and restaurants and a short drive to the new club house at Baviera Golf. There is a retail park and aqua park ten minutes drive away. A chemist, bakery, banks and other shops and amenities are also within a 10 minute walk.

If you like strolling along an attractive and lively promenade, stopping off in little tavernas and watching local fishermen cook sardines over hot coals, then Caleta de Velez is the ideal destination for you.

We are about 35 minutes from Malaga airport; 15 minutes drive from Nerja; an hour away from Granada and Marbella and about an hour from the Sierra Nevada ski resort. We literally do have an enviable position in a town that hasn't lost its spanish charm or character.

Amplio y bonito
Nosotros fuimos en familia, el apartamento es muy bonito y amplio con unos sofás muy cómodos, aunque una TV pequeña. La urbanización es muy tranquila y la piscina muy grande y bonita también. No tiene garaje, pero se aparca bien en la calle siempre hay sitio más cerca o más lejos de la puerta pero siempre hay sitio. Nosotros íbamos en coche a la playa porque es más cómodo para llevar las sillas, sombrillas... y también encontramos siempre sitio para aparcar su que llegaramos tarde a la playa. La zona del paseo marítimo está todo muy cerca Torre del Mar , Caleta de Vélez y Algarrobo. A nosotros nos gustó mucho Torre del Mar y alquilamos un patinete eléctrico a los niños allí y lo pasaron genial!. Sin duda, si volvemos por esa zona de vacaciones volveremos a este apartamento !!

Un año más se cumplen las espectativas
Segundo año que escogemos este apartamento. Una vez más, todo muy bien, puntualidad, limpieza, y equipado con todo lo necesario para la estancia. Todo tal cual el anuncio. Zona muy tranquila y cuidado todo al milímetro. Piscina espectacular, parque infantil y zonas comunes con mucha tranquilidad y poco ruido. La amabilidad de la propietaria también es de destacar, muy servicial y detallista. Nos dejo unas cosillas de bienvenida en el frigorífico y se agradece. Para cualquier cosa, ella estaba a nuestra disposición. A título personal, recomiendo el alojamiento para ir en pareja o con niños, como he dicho con anterioridad, la piscina es fantástica, con su zona de césped y su socorrista. La playa, nosotros usábamos el coche por la comodidad del carro del niño, juguetes, sillas sombrilla etc. Pero andando se tardaría unos 10-15 minutos. Por las noches nos desplazamos hasta algarrobo costa, donde el paseo marítimo está muy bien, actuaciones de cante en directo, colchonetas para los niños, puestos de ropa, accesorios, etc. Bares de todo tipo por la zona. Yo recomiendo el bar bodegón, al lado del puerto deportivo de caleta de Vélez. Calidad precio inmejorable, y trato del personal muy muy muy bueno. Que mejoraría del apartamento? La televisión la pondría más grande, por lo demás, perfecto. Gracias y hasta el verano que viene.

We are a professional couple with a six year old son. The apartment holds many happy memories for us from teaching him to swim in the lovely swimming pool to cooking on the bbq whilst watching the sun go down over the mountains.

We are based in the UK but enjoy the culture and ambience of Caleta; trying to visit as often as we possibly can. Interesting times to visit are during the Feria season - information relating to each town's ferias can be found online.

Why they chose this property

We didn't want to buy somewhere that was overpopulated with English people and believe our urbanisation has the balance just right. A range of nationalities both live and hold holiday homes here and we have made many good friends over the years.

Having looked at a range of properties along the coast before we bought, we felt La Almijara de Baviera was the best. It is immaculately kept with well maintained lawns and communal areas including a paddle tennis court and small play area for children. The graduated pool means that non swimmers and swimmers of all abilities can cool off in the sun.

It is near enough to beaches and bars, yet a short walk away so you can have some much needed peace and quiet if you want it. The resort is particularlychild friendly, something we'd not ever considered before starting a family. Different generations of a family will spend time together round the pool, dining, strolling along the prom and they really do welcome children.

Near to golf and motorway - 2 minutes from motorway turn off 274 yet you never hear a peep from the roads due to our location
Wheelchair friendly - our property is approached from the road via a small slope. there is a lift to our (first) floor and the communal toilets / showers in the pool area are at ground level.
