Roomy family retreat
10 of us (6 plus 4 kids) enjoyed family holiday in this well equipped house.
Garden was great too.
No facility for recycling waste. Contrary to advice there is no facility at nearby Morrisons (Newquay) and no facility for collection. We ended up going to the council recycling centre. I am sure some guests would resort to putting in the general waste.
For these reasons would say 8 out of 10.
We had a brilliant stay at Berwyn the house had everything we needed and was in a beautiful location with amazing beach within walking distance. We also loved the balcony on the sunshine. Would definitely could back! Thank you for a great stay
Large practical accommodation
A practical and is larger than normal accommodation, that suited 3 families well. Ideal for family holidays with good access to local beaches. However, beware of the weaver fish at low tide in the soft sand.
Hi Rosemary, thanks for the review and always a joy to hear from you and welcome you at Berwyn again. See you next year. Cheers Harry
Beautiful family home
Lovely house felt like home instantly everything you required for a family holiday was l their . Lovey safe garden to relax in beautiful views from the master bedroom.gill the housekeeper was lovely . Crantock is still the same beautiful place it has always been .it was a 10-15 minute walk to the beach which is also as beautiful as it h always been our dog loved the beach . The whole family fell in love with the house & crantock & we felt we could have stayed forever we were all sad to leave . We will be back❤️
Great house with everything you need.
Great location with easy walk to the beach, local shop and pubs. Good for long walks along the coastal path and beach which is open for dogs all year round. We were 2 families with 6 kids aged between 10-15 and the house was plenty big enough for us all to have our own space. Well equipped and perfect location we had a great week. Thank!
Excellent Holiday Base
Generally this was a super house for extended family - just two little 'gripes':-
1) The parking was tricky for a two car family group
2) The mattresses probably need replacing (very hard)
Otherwise clean, well equipped, good size, nice garden and outside areas, close to the coast paths and beaches and walking distance from 3 excellent pub/restaurants.
Crantock lies just a few miles west of Newquay and is a pretty seaside village home to two excellent pubs, a restaurant and a few good shops, including a convenience store for day-to-day essentials. It is however, the village's dog and family friendly beach that makes it a popular destination for visitors to North Cornwall.
Berwyn is located just outside of the village centre on the road, which leads west to Perranporth. From the house it is a gentle stroll over the fields and dunes to the beach, as well as to the pubs and shop. Another notable place in the village is its church, which was built on the original site of a monastery destroyed by Henry 8th.
Lying between Crantock and Newquay is the River Gannel, which during the summer has a boat operating on it to ferry passengers between Fern Pitt and Crantock, this is a great way to access the town without getting in the car.
Other places to see nearby include Polly Joke beach, Holywell and Perranporth.
Much of Crantock is owned by the National Trust, including the headland, which has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The area is perfect for walkers with the South West Coast Path passing through the village and many other nearby footpaths available for exploring the local scenery.
