Family boating trip
Family had a great time. I would stay here again. 20 minutes to boat ramp off of 76.
Great Trip, beautiful house!
The house is a beautiful log cabin with all the luxuries of home. There is plenty of space of a large group. The outside decks were great for everyone to gather. Our group enjoyed the secluded area to play games and listen to music without bothering anyone. The homeowner was fantastic about our last minute booking.
Great place to stay
This location is very peaceful. The house is big enough for 8-10 guests comfortably. Owner is very responsive. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Nice place with a few limitations
The cabin was very nice and plenty of room for our family. Excellent view of the lake below.
It is a bit out in the middle of nowhere, but the gated community is nice and the drive back in to Russell Springs is not too bad.
If you bring a boat and want to launch it, the Corp of Engineers launch at the end of highway 76 is much easier than Alligator II marina!
The only shortcomings was the TV channel selections, weren’t able to get the Blues NHL playoff game on TV due to limited channels. Also, lack of WIFI is a bit frustrating. Cell service was there but only on the main level of the house.
Spring 2019 stay review
I hosted a bachelor party for 8 people ; most of whom are in their 30s and 40s. We came away very impressed by the lot and cabin. There was ample room, enough bathrooms so that we didn't crowd one another, and the kitchen was nice.
It was a stormy weekend so the screened-in porch (ground floor) was too damp to hang out in, but the first-floor porch was perfect. The view of the follow leading in to the lake and the surrounding hills was fantastic.
We grilled steaks, sausages, and tuna using the fire pit and were just happy to get away for a couple of days. I would stay here again!
As Pete discovered, our cabin is perfect for gatherings of friends and family. New mattresses are one of our recent updates.
Over all, the house and location is great if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life but you want to take some creature comforts with you. I will say though that it needs a good cleaning. The house, including the floors, were very dusty. The dishes and appliances were also very dirty but we simply washed them before use. The bed we were in had a ton of what felt like sand in between the sheets which was odd. The TV in that same room didn't initially have a power cord and once we found it, the TV wouldn't power on. Also, the clothes washer needs some TLC. We did a load of towels, as requested, but they came out smelling mildewy. Regardless, we took all of this in stride and still enjoyed our weekend. The kids really wanted there to be a path to the water but enjoyed being able to walk around this unknown community but still feel safe since it's gated. We would rent again.
Glad to read Rachel wants to return. We certainly would welcome her family for another visit
The Lake Cumberland shoreline is controlled by the Corps of Engineers, with direct access limited to marinas and parks. Our resort does have a recreation area next to the Corps controlled property, only 75' to the lake.
A frequent visitor to our cabin arrived yesterday. They reported the cabin was clean and fresh. I will review Rachel's feedback with our cleaner.
The mattress may need replacement.
