You're tucked in a sleepy little oasis, near the beach, with everything you'll need only 5 minutes away. The pool bar in the back yard also has a sink, fridge, and half bathroom. Sand at the Strand easily sleeps up to eight and has: BR1-1 King; BR2-1 King; BR3-2 Singles; BR4-1 Queen. Sand at the Strand is a non-smoking vacation accommodation; pets are not permitted. This property DOES allow motorcycles, trailered vehicles, and golf carts.

Deep down filth

The house has a decade of filth. None of the upstairs tv works. The twin bathroom has peeling wallpaper & not a draw that opens. Most bedrooms don’t have blinds. The downstairs master has a wood rot & mold problem. The outside furniture you could pay me enough to sit on. The couches are covered in stains. We used all the sheets & towels provided to cover everything so we could at least sit. Do yourself a favor rent another house, the owners clearly don’t care & just collect $$. Thankfully we bought own sheets, comforter & towels.

Property Needs Work

We have many of the similar complaints as the other reviewers. While this property was the perfect size for our family and had a great location, there were some major issues that made this stay rate 3 vs 5. Let me first say the property management was very responsive to us and accommodating with our biggest concern. It is a nice home. However, they need to be more aware of the lack of detailed maintenance to the property. Now, here are the problems: 1- the pool was not well maintained or properly prepared for our use. There was a lot of algae build up throughout and black mold accumulation in some spots. The private contractor used was sent out 4 times to address the problem to no avail. They claimed the pool needed to be resurfaced and did not attempt to clean properly as they consistently showed up without proper equipment. Recommend a new contractor. We had no pool for our week-long stay. 2- the house is advertised as pet free. However, as stated by another reviewer, the house had pet dander/hair, a chew toy under the couch, dog scratches and damage in some areas of the home. For a family with pet allergies and asthma this is really bad. My wife had to use her inhaler some days during the trip and kids take benadryl. Must update the listing to remove pet-free. 3- cleanliness was not terrible, but noticeably lacking in areas. The house fans, windows, blinds and curtains all needed dusting as they had build up and when the fan got turned on it spread the dust. There was sand at the entrance of the home, and the downstairs patio looked as if not clean for some time. The shower had sand, the shower doors had black mold. 4-the kitchen pots and pans were extremely old, worn, scratched and morphed. They should all be replaced. 5- downstairs patio needs maintenance, we did not sit out there as the table was very loose, and we did not want to be blamed for a break, the fan was very rusted, furniture was dirty, patio itself was quite dirty and needing a power wash and paint. 6-rotting wood inside downstairs master room back door due to water damage 7 - outdoor surrounding bushes are all over grown and almost covering windows. We most likely would not visit this particular property again, but would rent from Thomas Vacations again. I want to make sure to emphasize that Thomas Vacation was very responsive to us and understanding when contacted.

North Myrtle House

WE loved that we could keep the kids safe from COVID 19 by having a private house with a pool. It was a 3 minute walk to beach which was nice. The house needs a deep cleaning. I cleaned some of the mold out of the showers but some extra cleaning products like Tilex would help. The outside screened porch neeeds sweeping and general wiping down and paint. Utensils need upgrading and a Keurig would be nice.The big bedroom downstairs has had water damage near the back door. During our stay, the wooded lot next door provided a secluded feel, but men with loud equipment began tearing away at the trees and brush making it hard to sleep and relax. DEbris kept flying and hitting the house and landing in the pool.The kids loved the house and we did too. The owner just needs to fix a few things and paint. The outside siding near bushes is corroded with yuck.

Amazing location and pool!

Loved staying at this house. It was so spacious and it was very nice that each big bedroom had its own bathroom. The pool was extremely nice after a long day at the beach. It had amazing beach access that felt very private away from the big hotels. The only downsides were that it wasn’t very clean, a lot of white dog hairs on the rug in the living room, and the couch was very uncomfortable as it looked like it was about to collapse. However, all the beds were super comfy which is a big plus! We would come back to this location in a heartbeat!
