About this property

Welcome to Inspired by the Lake! Enjoy everything Lake Geneva has to offer in this charming historic bungalow in a quiet neighborhood. This home is within walking distance of the beach, lake path, restaurants, parks, and the water. Pack up the wagon and head downtown without having to worry about parking. Enjoy a spacious back yard with a charcoal grill and fire pit. Clean up in the newly remodeled bathroom.

This home accommodates 6 comfortably. There are 2 beautiful bedrooms with queen-sized beds plus a fully air conditioned porch with a twin day bed and spare twin mattress. New for 2023...the living room has a new couch and new full-sized sofa sleeper. Parents, save space in the car! A stroller, pack and play, and high chair are available upon request.

We are expecting a new baby on April 17th, so there may be a delay in our responses as we adjust for a few weeks this spring! We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Weekend Getaway

My daughters, friend and I had a wonderful stay at Jamie’s adorable house. It’s a great location (near downtown, beach and lovely neighborhood), clean, and comfortable. She has all the “extras” that makes a VRBO perfect.

Best family lake vacation!

Our family had a wonderful stay with all the amenities provided, from beach supplies (extra towels, wagon, folding chairs, cooler, sand castle building toys, and more) to household items. Loved all the recommendations from the host as well as the books she curated especially for our tween. Was great to be walking distance from downtown and the lake (and to save on parking!). As a shoe-free household, we especially appreciated how clean it was, too. Wish we could've stayed longer!

Exceptional home

My kids and I needed a fall break and we found it in this beautiful home by lake Geneva. The home is exceptionally clean and organized. The host placed a lot of thought into familiarizing us with the area before we even left. The neighborhood is fabulous and quiet and only 5 min away walking to the lake, and within a mile from a grocery store. This has been by far our best stay away from home. Thank you.

Girls weekend

Went to Lake Geneva for a girls weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Jamie could not have been more helpful and her personal touches at the property cover all of the little things that you may have forgotten. We walked to everything which was another plus since we didn’t have to search for a parking spot downtown. Lovely property!

Great getaway in adorable home

Great family getaway, and an adorable lake living home. Very well decorated, very clean, and the owner was fabulous to work with. Would highly recommend to anyone I know going to the area and looking for a place to stay. Amenities and all the little extras made us feel as if we were in our own home. Owner goes above and beyond.

I have always loved Geneva Lake. My grandfather spent nearly 90 consecutive summers on the lake in Fontana. I remember spending time during my childhood summers swimming, boating, and hiking along the lakeshore path. I moved to the area full-time in 2008 to help with my grandmother when she was sick, and I never left. The lake is where I find my peace and happiness. We lost my grandmother in 2010. My grandfather made it another amazing 11 years. Their legacies live on through the memories I have and the peace I find on Geneva Lake. I am an elementary teacher in the Kenosha School District. When I was engaged in 2020, I knew I wanted to keep and share my home in Lake Geneva. Short-term rentals allow the best of both worlds, my family and I can still use my home and I can share my love of the lake with others. My fiancé and I will be married in August 2021, and I will also officially become a bonus mom to an 8-year-old son.

Why they chose this property

This home was built in 1925, likely from a kit ordered from a catalog. In 1926, the couple had a son. I purchased this home after their son passed away in 2017 at 91 years of age. He had no children. It was obvious that the home was loved and the family was very handy. I have poured my heart and soul into maintaining and restoring what I can to honor the family. I can’t even begin to list all of the things I have done, but I can tell you I have learned so much along the journey. I am so happy to share my home with you. Please take good care of it, and thank you for staying with me! The kitchen displays recipes that are just a sampling of the many family recipes left behind.

Location, location, location! This home has the best location, a quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood, but just blocks away from shopping, hiking, and swimming. Everything is a 10-minute walk away, and it makes getting around so easy.
