About this property

Settlers Cabin (Starlight) A self-catering camping cabin & farm stay experience

Delight in a self-catering camping cabin that sleeps up to 3 adults/older children (3rd person camping bed).

Our friendly farm pets roam freely to entertain you - a farm tour for a much more hands-on experience can be booked.

Take life at your own pace and choose what to do and when it suits you.

Our farm is 380 acres of forests, streams, and caves, to discover.

The property is based at the cusp of the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks, with village markets every weekend in Motueka and Takaka.

The sanctuary is a place to relax and enjoy the simple things in life or you can explore the huge range of local attractions from wine tasting, boat trips, beaches, and other activities.

Bring your gumboots, get stuck in and mingle with our sanctuary farm pets, and even experience a settler's campfire feast (Advanced booking required).

Hidden Valley Farm isn't just an accommodation, it's an old-style farm holiday and a full-on lifestyle experience.

If you are looking for somewhere to watch the TV, play video games, use any electronics for entertainment, this is defineatly not for you. However, if you want to get away from it all and have a few days of rest and relaxation, listen to the sounds of nature and watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets, you are perfect for this holiday.

With full access to our superb open moorland, huge tracts of native bush, streams and farm animals there is plenty to do.

The water supply to the property is from one of our mountain streams. As such we cannot guarantee this water for drinking. It is beautiful water and fine for showering, washing up etc but we suggest bringing bottled water for drinking. We do provide 1.5 litres per day of bottled water.

Nice hide out

Great stay in the middle of nowhere. Access track is a bit rough so 4WD is essential.

Off grid experience

Chose this accommodation to be in the countryside. The host saw our arrival and came to help. They took our bags from the parking area where the toilet and shower are, to the cabin 100m away. The cabin and surroundings are rustic. The surrounding grass was cut for our arrival. There is no electricity but there is a cold tap and a gas BBQ. The kitchen has basic items and a sink. A cool box is supplied with a bottle of frozen water to act as a cool space. The bunks are rustic but adequate and we slept well! The gas heated shower and toilet are 100m away and are clean and adequate.. Stunning views, friendly hosts and a memorable stay.
