About this property

120 Year Old Farm House

Welcome to Midwestern Charm on the farm! A renovated 120-year-old farmhouse, set in a nice, quiet piece of farmland surrounded by cows and horses. With this stay, you get the nostalgia of an old farm home with modern conveniences and updates.
This is a private suite with your own entrance and parking (max of 2 vehicles only) within our home. We are happy to accommodate moving trucks and trailers.
Located in Odessa, on the east side of Kansas City. We are a 40 min drive to Downtown/Power & Light District.
The space:
Midwestern Charm is a guest suite within our home. The suite is a private studio with its own bathroom, exterior entrance, and on-site parking. We do not have a TV in the space.
The suite shares a sliding barn door with the remainder of the house. The barn door will remain locked during your entire stay.
We have worked hard to ensure that there will be as little sound bleed as possible. Many of our guests do not get to meet in person due to the private/separate entrance; however, we may cross paths outside.
We do allow one pet at no additional cost. If there is more than one pet, we require a fee of $25 for each additional pet. So for two pets, we will request an additional $25. For three pets, we will request an additional $50 per night.

Other things to note:
A parking space is provided in front of the shop on the property. The keypad lock allows you to check in and come and go as needed.
Check-in time is 4:00 PM.
Check-out time is 11:00 AM unless otherwise discussed with us.

Lovely place for dogs
We had a lovely time. Beautiful place with a lot of walking space for our dogs. Only frustration is that the extra $100 for our dogs did not cover the extra cleaning and replacing of sheets and comforter that the owner thought was needed. We were asked to pay another $150 to replace bedding on top of the extra we already paid to cover cost of clean up after dogs. I understand the mystery stains would not come out. Honestly still perplexed at how they got there and what it was from! I do understand the need to prevent lost income when renting out a space in your home. I was a bit taken off guard by the back end cost. I would still highly recommend them as our dogs had to have caused the stains, just be aware the additional costs to have dogs does not seem to help cover cost of damage/replacement if needed.

Excellent Stay!
Truly enjoyed our stay at this VRBO. The place was perfect size for us, and everything we needed was right there. Charming decor, and Amber was a superb host for our stay. We would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful place to stop
Great property we stopped at on our way to Colorado. Despite a small hiccup in the check in process we had a good stay. The guest portion of the house is extremely clean and Amber and her husband are very welcoming. Our daughter enjoyed the play set and I enjoyed a glass of wine on the porch watching the birds and flowers. Very peaceful place. My only suggestions would be to see if a bigger bed would fit in the master, have a fan available for white noise, and have a lock on the guest side of the sliding barn door, just to make the guest more comfortable since the door is accessed in the other side in the owners kitchen. All in all I would stay here again and you should too, you won’t regret it. Make sure to ask Amber for restaurant suggestions, the ones nearby are not the best.
