Our beautifully renovated 1868 stone farmhouse is the place to unwind and reconnect with nature. Enjoy the privacy and open spaces of the countryside with easy access to local attractions.

Historic 1868 Stonehouse – A Timeless Retreat
Nestled in the heart of the countryside, this beautifully restored 1868 Stonehouse is a true testament to history and heritage. Built with craftsmanship that has stood the test of time, this remarkable home sits on land that has been lovingly owned by the same family since 1852, now in its fifth generation of stewardship.
Over the past 25 months, the home has undergone a complete renovation, seamlessly blending modern comforts with its original charm. From its sturdy stone walls to thoughtfully updated interiors, every detail has been carefully curated to offer a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Now available as a short-term rental, this one-of-a-kind retreat provides guests with a unique opportunity to experience a piece of history while enjoying all the comforts of a contemporary stay.

The house is set on a hill with a view that is second to none. You will have a clear view to the north of our 300 acre working cash crop farm.
Bring your fishing rod and try your fishing skills a quick walk back the sideroad to the Blyth Creek
You will have the entire house to yourself. There is a patio that opens out to the old orchard and crop land.
The house is fully furnished, includes free wi-fi (fibre), Smart TV's, fridge, microwave, stove and dishes, 3 living rooms areas and a sitting room. Curl up next to the gas fireplace inside during the cool evenings. Fully stocked kitchen, Bed linen and towels supplied.
Other things to note
Children and families are welcome and encouraged. There's lots of room to run and explore outdoors on the property, although we ask that you do not enter the outbuildings. There is a long gravel driveway that is perfect for bike riding. The 4 bedrooms are located up stairs. The stairs are not gated top or bottom.
A full restoration of the stone masonary work on the house was completed in 2025. She is all shone up ready for another century of living.
There are new floors through out the house both the 1st and 2nd floors. The walls and ceilings have all been re plastered and painted. The house has all new appliances including stove, refrigerator, microwave, washer and dryer, new water heater and propane fireplace. Note there is no dishwasher.
The upstairs bathroom is the final project scheduled for 2026.
The property is located on a gravel road, perfect for long walks. The G2G trail is right next door to the farm – you can walk to your hearts content. The space is perfect for wedding anniversaries, hiking the G2G trail or working remotely while enjoying some secluded RnR
Please note that this property is part of a working agricultural community. There will be farm equipment moving on the roads seasonally. Please be aware of your surroundings if you are out walking. We have great neighbours – give them a wave when they pass you, that’s the Huron County thing to do!

Floor to ceiling windows with deep window sills, lots of morning and afternoon light. Sit and enjoy the peace as you checkout the original fireplace to the house (decorative only) or use the Queen Anne writing desk for your work station.
TV room/Living room 2:
Giant country windows with deep window sills, comfortable seating, TV with Roku and Netflix, amazing afternoon light, incredibly peaceful. A bookcase filled with books and games.

Propane Fireplace & seating area.
Bedroom 1 (double bed):
An escape in time (it's the original guest bedroom of the farm house), with a huge window with a deep window sill with great morning light. The bedroom also features an antique walnut bedroom suite with matching oval table and dresser with marble tops.
Bedroom 2 (double bed)
This room has a French provincial shabby chic double bed with matching bedside table and high boy dresser. This room also faces East and has amazing morning light you can enjoy sitting in the window..
Bedroom 3 (queen bed)
This room is quiet and tranquil, shaded by the cedar trees outside. There is always a breeze in the summer thru this bedroom. French Provincial side tables, long dresser and full mirror for dressing.
Bedroom 4 (queen bed)
This room is the original master bedroom of the house. Beautiful arched deep window sills facing the East and West for lots of sunlight. Complete with 2 tall dressers.
Kitchen
Fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, a coffee bar with coffee machine and Keurig. Pots & Pans, dishes and serving bowls. Oak round table that can seat 6 in the kitchen.
Patio
A beautiful large full sun patio area on the east side of the house. Sheltered by Cedar trees on one side and opens to an old orchard and farm land.
Porch
A covered porch located on the west side of the house a perfect spot to sit a watch the sunset.
You'll have access to the entire stone house. With the exception of the front and back basement, supply closet and outbuildings.
