Quiet and peacefull Neighborhood.

Beautiful home with all amenities. Some repairs need to be done to the exit doors to the pool area. We were very satisfied with this home and wanted to rent it for March of 2024 but part of the month was already taken. I would recommend this home very highly.

Our Fourth Florida Rental

This was our fourth long term rental (Jan & Feb) in Florida. Although the property has "good bones", it could benefit from better maintenance of major items and a good, deep cleaning. Overall, the property was slightly below average in cleanliness when we arrived and several items needed immediate repair. Further, the VRBO property listing did not mention the house was "self-catering" - a fact that was not revealed until we received the check-in email. That meant that we needed to bring or purchase things like extra paper towels, cleaning supplies, salt and pepper, dish soap, etc. - things that are normally provided. The day after we arrived, we called property maintenance to report the following problems: 1. The 3 rear sliding doors would not close and latch 2. The vertical blinds for the doors were broken and barely operable. 3. Master Bath sink drain clogged & leaking 4. Master Bath vent fan very dirty and noisy 5. Clothes dryer had broken start knob and disconnected vent line that allowed lint to blow into the laundry area. Vent line needed clean out. The above items were remedied promptly. However, the following were not reported to maintenance: 1. Garage door opener drive belt was broken when we arrived - unable to open garage door when needed. 2. Faulty light switch for master bedroom closet - needs replacing. A few other switches in similar condition. 3. During our 2 month stay we killed 3 cockroaches in the master bath / bedroom area. The Highlands Reserve facilities and golf course are as advertised. The neighborhood is reasonably quiet and safe. However, we noted that the VRBO listing pictures must be somewhat dated as the property furnishings and such appear in much better condition. Despite the above items, we did enjoy our time at the property. We mention all of the above as constructive comments on how the property could be even better - based on our other Florida rental experiences. Specifically: 1. The rear sliding doors and blinds need extensive maintenance or replacement and the garage door opener needs repair. 2. The interior needs a deep cleaning of floors, carpeting, windows, and HVAC vents 3. Employ the services of a pest control company. 4. Consider abandoning the "self-catering" approach and provide the "little things" that most other rentals include. Resolving the above could put the property at the 4-5 star level.
