About this property

Our apartment is located in the old Bahnwärterhaus of Schalkenmehren, in the middle of the Vulkaneifel between Trier and Koblenz, just off the scenic Mittelmosel. Brand new renovated, it now invites guests to linger.
The romantic enchanted garden terrace including garden furniture and barbecue is at your disposal.

The apartment is upstairs and can range from 1 - 4 persons are used.
Pets are not allowed.
The house is located in the pristine nature of the Eifel mountain range on the edge of the nature reserve
'Dauner Maare'.
The name "Little Retreat" was chosen because were found under the house remains of a Roman villa rustica, which are still partially visible today.

Aktiv sein und dabei entspannen

Es war ein wunderbarer, entspannter Urlaub in einer herrlichen Unterkunft. Wenn man seine Ruhe möchte, aber trotzdem zu Fuß in die nächste Gaststätte gehen will, dann ist das alte Bahnwärterhaus mit seinem freundlichen Vermieter nur zu empfehlen. Rad- und Wanderwege gehen an der Haustür vorbei, das nächste Maar ist nur einen Katzensprung entfernt und in der Wohnung fehlt es an nichts. Den Garten ist wunderbar wild, im Sommer bestimmt eine Wucht! Wir kommen wieder!!!

Sleeping Beauty House

We (2 adults) enjoyed a wonderful stay in the village of Schalkenmehren. One of our neighbours called the cottage 'das Dornröschen Haus" (the Sleeping Beauty house) as it is entirely covered in climbing plants, roses and grape vines. Lovely on the outside, very comfortable inside. A good bed, pleasant living room and well equipped kitchen. Great surroundings for walks, and interesting museum in the village and several cafés and restaurants within easy walking distance.
