About Jill Andersen
We are the Andersen's! Brandon, Jill and three boys -Cooper, Colby, and Griffin. We also have a Golden Retriever named Tundra. We have bought, fixed up and sold many cabins in Grand Rapids. We bought this cabin in 2003 and love it so much, we kept it! We lived in Minneapolis when we bought this cabin and made the trek up north every weekend. We moved to Breezy Point, MN several years ago, and don't make it up north as often as we used to. Our kids are at the ages where they have hockey, mountain biking, and Tae Kwon Do, and many other schedules to follow. That is why we rent our cabin! When we do stay there, we bring our 4 wheelers and play on the many trails available. The boys love it. We also fish, fish and fish some more. There are so many great places to fish and all types! Another favorite activity is to boat over to Drumbeater island and swim and just hang out. Kayaking is always fun too, along with big bon fires.

Why Jill Andersen chose Cohasset
This property used to be an old boy scout camp. There are 5 private acres right on the lake. There is enough room to roam, yet you are close enough to Grand Rapids to get in on any action you want!
What makes this Cabin unique
We love the space that this place provides. You can see the charming parts of the original cabin, and where new rooms have been added on.
100% refund if cancelled at least 60 days before arrival date.
The cabin is nice and spacious, but the lake is even better! Sandbars and beaches out on the islands are amazing! Fishing is also amazing!
Fits the whole family.
We had a great time with the family. The only complaint was the hot water for the shower was short lived. Things like ceiling fans need a bit of cleaning but it was good overall.
Great family getaway
The owners are very quick to respond and have a beautiful, well kept property! My family will defiantly stay here again!
Great layout and location... just needs some TLC
We had a group of adult siblings stay for a long weekend. The location was great on the lake and we enjoyed the peacefulness there. It was the perfect layout for us to visit and have our morning coffee and evening quiet time. There was some basic maintenance needed in the bathrooms, light bulbs changed and for flying travelers it was difficult to bring our own towels and sheets. It just needs some TLC and the outside just needs basic cleaning around doors and windows of spider webs, etc.
We are so glad you enjoyed your family time together! The cabin is the perfect, peaceful place to enjoy your family. Thank you for bringing the maintenance issues to our attention. They have been addressed and all fixed. Things should be in tip top shape moving forward!
It was Magical!
Words cannot express how happy we were with our stay. Every bit of it exceeded our expectations. It was my wife's 50th birthday and we had friends from around the country fly in to spend an extended weekend. We had originally booked for ten, but ended up only having six people there for the whole time. The cabin and grounds are gorgeous and it is a very secluded and private location. Even if all ten did make it, There was more than plenty of room for everyone. We were very sad to leave and we will definitely come back.
So great to hear! I am happy to hear the birthday celebration was a success. We think the cabin is a little slice of heaven too. Glad you enjoyed it.
Quiet, beautiful, place, and location. Perfect for large family gatherings that allow pets!
Our family of 4 children, 2 of which are grown, married and have children of their own, and, 2 teenagers, rented this retreat Memorial weekend. There were 9 of us, along with our beloved fur babies. (A huge plus that pets are allowed) The cabin itself it very large! The majority of the furniture in there is log made. Beds, dressers, futons, dining table! All very beautifully crafted, making it feel even more like "up north" . There is a "guest cabin" on the property, not far from the main cabin that is quaint, cute (a complete cabin that can be used by itself) and another great addition to needing more sleeping accomodations, yet we did not have the need to use. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, and dining. There are some items there (such as dish/hand soap etc, but we brought our own)
We had a wonderful time while staying here. The owners are extremely prompt in replying should you have questions. Never once did we feel we were over cramped as there are multiple rooms to be in, that are not one of the 2 bedrooms. Again, although we brought our own, there was ample blankets, pillows, etc for sleeping, with even a porta crib and high chair for those with a baby.
We recommend this cabin to those who want to bring their pets on vacation. We never heard a neighbor or anyone while we stayed here. It was very private and accomodating. The owner has it all explained out in the rules and necessary things that need to be taken care of during your stay.
We plan to stay here again! Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed your time at our Up North Retreat! Come back anytime!
