About this property

Sawtooth View

A Porch with a Million Dollar View ... Away from the City Lights, Enjoy the starry nites !
Great family friendly setting with an open concept to have space in any kind of weather. This is named "Sawtooth View" because of its view out the front door.
Sawtooth is in the Cabinet Mountains on the Northside of the house while looking over a hay field. We are located 36 miles from Sandpoint Idaho, driving around Pend Oreille Lake, which has a lot of things to do, along with Schweitzer Ski resort being one of them. Also there are several day activities, such as driving north on Hwy 56 to the Cedars, Bull Lake and Kootenai Falls. A Beautiful day drive can take you on Hwy 56, Hwy 2, Hwy 95 and Hwy 200. We are also located 2.5 miles from 2 different boat launches (Big Eddie and Heron) so that you can enjoy the Clark Fork River and all that it has to offer. We have a circular drive with easy access on the Heron County Rd if you are towing a boat. Across the river is the beautiful country town of Heron. 12 miles east takes you to Noxon, MT and Clark Fork ID is 12 miles west. You can explore a lot of backroads driving to see the sights.
We have a beautiful setting in rural NW Montana. We do have modern conveniences such as indoor plumbing and a Roku TV.
We also have Wi-Fi and Internet but they can be spotty and unreliable.
Our Internet speed IS NOT as fast as you are probably used to.
Cell service can be hit and miss but we do have a Verizon Booster.
Our weather can be unpredictable and yet very beautiful.
We have a saying "If you don't like the weather, Wait 5 minutes, It will change!"
We have had the electricity go off and return in 5 minutes, or not come on for hours or days. We love this rural setting because you can "Get Away from it ALL!"
We have a large fenced yard that you can lay under the stars without light pollution. The yard is grass and is mowed regularly but it is uneven and has pocket gophers present so there are fresh dirt in spots, also some holes.
(This fenced yard IS NOT escape proof for either 2 or 4 legged children.)
Our home is built on a daylight basement so this means that it IS NOT handicap accessible. There are 9 steps to get up to the main level of the house. There are also 2 sets of stairs that will take you to the basement. The main floor is a large open concept living with 2 different kinds of recliners (seats 4) (2 are electric, and 2 are not) along with a game coffee table sitting in front of an electric fireplace. The dining table is at the end of a long kitchen counter island. There are stools to sit on while eating or visiting with the cook. The kitchen has a propane gas cook stove/oven. Also a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker and grinder. There are pots and pans, fry pans, and dishes. The front deck has a propane gas grill.
(All you need to do is bring the food, your clothes and toiletries.)
On the main floor there is the master bedroom with a king bed and on suite with a walk in shower along with a small bedroom with a twin bed and the laundry room, which is also a full bath with shower/tub combo.
Downstairs has two bedrooms, one has a full bed and one has a queen bed. There is a family room that has a twin trundle daybed (2 twins) along with 2 lounging chairs. There is a full bathroom with a walk in shower also and last but not least, a pool table for your entertainment.
We will try our best to make your stay as comfortable as we can.

Perfect!
This is our second time here at the “Sawtooth View House”. We had friends join us a few days into our stay. The owner’s Heidi and Alan are great. Checked in to see if we needed anything during our stay. House is very comfortable, clean and has everything you need. A great house for family’s with kids too. The views are so amazing! Quiet beautiful community! We will be back next summer. ❤️

Montana serenity
This rural Montana home felt very homey when we walked in. It was secluded enough that we felt like we had our own space but too far from town. The wildlife viewing was a bonus. Due to rainy weather we did not use the outside fire pit. The game table was fun. Our group of 7 fit comfortably. This home gave us easy access to local attractions and was a great launching point for our outdoor adventures. Heidi was so helpful and easy to work with. We look forward to staying here again on our future Montana visits.

The house was clean, relaxing and very well stocked. The owner is very nice, making sure we had everything we needed. The quietness of the area was amazing. The views of the hay fields and Sawtooth Mountains were really great. We had a storm come in one evening and had a great light show. The sunrises and sunsets were just beautiful. We will stay there again.
