Wonderful apartment in excellent location
Our family of four really enjoyed our recent stay at this upscale apartment. We loved the comfortable living room overlooking an old church, the cozy bedrooms with great closet space, the well equipped kitchen, and especially the air conditioning which worked very well during the record heat wave at the end of June. Location is excellent very close to metro station, good restaurants right next door, and one block from a huge food emporium called La Grand Epicerie from which we got takeout when we just wanted to eat in. The apartment is in a very old (but well maintained) building so there are some quirks like the teeny, tiny elevator and separate water closet but these did not diminish our experience! Highly recommended!
Perfect Paris Apartment for a Family
Our family of five had a wonderful week in Paris staying at Saint Thomas d'Aquin. Three bedrooms all worked very well for us and h
The building itself is beautiful with high ceilings, pretty moldings and gorgeous windows that open easily but have nice drapery for privacy if needed. Their is nice art work on the walls, quality flooring and comfortable seating.
Other reviewers cited that there is only one toilet so we were prepared and navigated it well. The two wash rooms, one with tub/shower and one with stall shower were very clean and well equipped with nice, thick towels for face, hands and body. We all used the largest one with the tub/shower combo and the big bright window as our main space for washing up and brushing teeth. There was a tiny bit of mold on the ceiling in one of the bathrooms but otherwise was clean and bright. The kitchen is well designed and well appointed. I've been at other rentals where we are given 4 plates, 4 forks, etc. This had a full set of white dishes and modern grey dishes. There were good quality knives (thought they could use to be sharpened), good pots and pans, large assortment of glassware, an apparently complete set of good, heavy flatware and an espresso maker. The appliances were all of a high quality and worked very well. We cooked and ate many meals and snacks in the kitchen. The kitchen table was a center of activity for our family where we ate, played cards, wrote in our journal and enjoyed the large window and the church bells across the yard. We did quite a few loads of laundry which was convenient and easy to use. Be warned the cycles do take much longer than American style washers and dryers. I think any of the negatives are that the place has probably had too much traffic given its' size and probably needs some commercial-grade appliances, hardware and plumbing. The front door was broken and had to be shut firmly (and loudly!). Two door knobs came off and not becauase we were too rough--they just had probably been repaired too many times. But this things were definitely not enough to make me give less than 5 stars.
We used the chauffeur service recommended by the homeowner and they were great too.
Communication with Elodie Fourtal was excellent. She responded very quickly so any inquiries I had. Georgina was friendly and knowledgable and she showed us the apartment when we first arrived. She also helped solve a problem that arose very quickly. Excellent experience all in all!
The appartment photos are very accurate and the size was perfect for our family of six! The loved the location, very quite and sage area. Just need to be aware that there is only one toilett in the whole appartment.
This is a beautiful apartment in a wonderful location! There are so many shops and restaurants right around the corner. The apartment is on a residential street, so it is quiet and peaceful at night even though it is very close to restaurants. The apartment is very spacious. Our family of 5 had plenty of room! It was perfectly clean when we arrived, and all the beds were very comfortable. We highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Paris!
Well located, comfortable apartment
We arrived at the apartment during a heat wave. The living room and bedrooms are all equipped with air conditioning units but two of the bedrooms' units were not really working. Unfortunately, this could not be remedied during our stay but we were able to make do as the two functioning units worked very well and we purchased a fan. Otherwise, the apartment was comfortable and roomy for a Paris apartment. We had enough space so that everyone could spread out and have some quiet time. The lift was small but worked well for two people or one person and luggage/shopping bags. The Bon Marche was so close and fantastic! We visited the food court daily for fresh bread/pastries/sundries/prepared foods/wine, etc. The proximity of the Metro was also amazing. We also enjoyed some good restaurants within walking distance. When France won the World Cup semi-finals, we were in an ideal location for people watching as they celebrated! All-in-all, we were happy with the apartment and location and would be happy to stay there again.
This apartment is so well located. It is very functional and comfortable. A second lavatory would be nice!
Next to the Bon Marche and the shopping area of St Germain, the area is ideal for visiting Paris and staying on the left bank. Metro Sevres Babylone is a few steps away while metro St Sulpice is also close by. You are about a 10 minute walk to Boulevard Saint Germain, and a few minutes from the boutiques of St Germain and literally on the doorstep of the 'Bon Marche' department store with the finest gourmet food hall in Paris. There are 9 buses steps from the building taking you directly to all the sites. From the apartment you can walk to the Musee D'Orsay or the Louvres or hop on a bus for a few stops.
