Comfortable & Convenient
We had a lovely time staying at this house while we skied over spring break. Just 3 of us, so had plenty of room and each had a bedroom to ourselves.
The house was very clean, comfortable and roomy. Rustic and perched on the side of a hill at the mouth of the canyon, just as the highway leaves the city and starts it’s rise into the mountains. You feel very much in the country. There are a few neighboring houses but they are separated by space and elevation and we never saw any of our neighbors the whole time we were there.
The house is only 15 minutes away from the Alta ski center where we spent all our time and even closer to a multitude of restaurants and grocery stores.
Note that the house has a well equipped kitchen, but it is quite small so that only one person at a time can efficiently work in it. Also, the access road is quite steep and only partially paved, so you will need 4-wheel drive if there is snow.
The owners, Anne and Giles, are an especially friendly couple and were very accommodating throughout the stay.
I very much recommend this rental. We definitely plan to return.
A partial extended family get away for skiing in the Wasatch.
My two adult sons, one of my brothers and his son. Perfect cozy home to have as a base to ski and board the Wasatch. Giles (Owmer) is awesome, attentive and caring. Fill of great local knowledge. I will be back!
Perfect house & hosts for a ski vacation!
This house was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy a quick 4 day ski trip to Snowbird. The house has a big open family room that served as our hangout space in the mornings as we ate breakfast and planned our day and our post-dinner relaxation location as we wound down before bed. In addition to the family room, there is a nicely appointed kitchen, full bath, a small sitting room and a back laudry room where we stored our ski equiment each night. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, which were perfect for our group and a full bath.
The location of this house is also excellent for access to Snowbird and Alta as it is just past the junction where all the traffic comes together to access Little Cottonwood Canyon. The location also provides great views of the mountains from the family room's huge window!
We also need to mention our hosts, Giles and Annie. We arrived late in the evening and Giles and Annie had gone to the house to make sure some lights were on and we had some coffee and provisions for the morning! That was a great touch! Thank you for sharing your home and we'll see you next year!
Charming house with great ski access and thoughtful owners
I came here for a quick ski weekend with a few friends and we really enjoyed our stay. The property is lovely and charming, very homey - feels like you're staying at a home that a family would actually live in, not a sterile hotel-like environment. The living room area is open and spacious and we loved the gas fireplace.
The property owners were kind and easy to communicate with. We loved the thoughtful little touches around the house, like a list of where various items are.
The kitchen is well equipped but pretty small, so keep that in mind if it's important for you to cook together.
The driveway is long and not plowed (at least not frequently), so I *strongly* recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle. I'm not even sure whether Uber (or similar) would be able to come up all the way.
Family ski trip
Great location for access to anything little cottonwood canyon (Alta and snowbird). Nice space for family. Cozy and comfortable. Classic cottage in the woods.
Kitchen is small but functional. Some dated furniture. During winter, you’ll need/want snow tires and/or four wheel drive.
