The tranquil Waikōloa Anchialine Pond Preservation Area lies just a few minutes down the road and a breathtaking drive up to Waimea town brings you into paniolo (cowboy) country. Fresh local food, crafts, and cool mountain air can be enjoyed at weekly farmers markets in Waimea, Hawi and Kona. Horse back, bike and ATVs tours can also provide access to the beauty of the Kohala, Hamakua and South Kohala coasts.
