About this property

Rural Alaska Tiny House near the White Mountains

Quaint and quiet, this off-grid space is perfect for a solo traveler or a couple looking to enjoy a disconnected getaway. Located 30 miles north of Fairbanks on the Elliott Hwy, it is a mix of cozy comforts and Alaskan outback (outhouse and no standard plumbing, but water provided) with a small farmstead thrown in. It's a great place to stop on your drive north. Bring your skis, snowmachine, hiking boots or dogs. Come experience the northern lights, the relaxing atmosphere, and the trails, or sit by fire and watch the goats feed in the pasture. There is no electricity available. Our driveway is always plowed clear of snow, but AWD or 4WD is recommended October through May.

Secluded and beautiful
This tiny home situated on top of a hill on a farm was the best escape I could ask for. I wanted to experience a week in a dry cabin and I received that plus more. Great family to stay with as they are very friendly and informative! Northern lights were perfectly viewable from right outside the cabin entrance.

This unique little spot is in rural Fairbanks about 30 minutes north of the city. It offers great scenery of the landscapes and peace and quiet from the busy modern life. Propane heating and provided water helped us to become immersed in the natural beauty of the area and provides amazing views of the northern lights and local trails to explore. This family farm stead is quiet and hospitable with very friendly goats and gives anyone a warm welcome to the Alaskan frontier!

We enjoyed staying on top of the hill with beautiful scenery surrounding us. The goats added rustic charm and we enjoyed hanging with them. The tiny house was clean and met our needs well. Water was provided and the outhouse was exceptionally clean. Our weather was very hot and inside the shipping container it was hard to cool down with no fan or cross breeze.

When solitude in nature's beauty paramount
I was looking for solitude for two weeks in an isolated location for a spiritual retreat. The tiny house is the perfect location. While the tiny house is on an owner-occupied farm; the owners respected my privacy and provided me complete solitude, but also helped when I requested assistance. Also important was occupying a well maintained and clean abode with a adequate supply of water, proper control of heat and ventilation. Owners loaned me (free) their spare snowshoes, which worked great and I used these to hike their many packed-down trails and even used their shooting range. In addition to the isolation I needed, the stark beauty of the surrounding location was very welcome. This VRBO rental is all of that and much more.

I have lived in Alaska for over 25 years and enjoy both the dark winters and the long summers. I love to garden and to harvest the bounty of berries right out our back door. It is a joy and honor to share our little piece of Alaskan wilderness and
small cultivated farmstead with others
