About this property

Schroon River Fishing Cabin, Bolton Landing/Warrensburg

Private, newly renovated cabin, with 150’ of private waterfront across the road, just one mile from Exit 24 of the Adirondack Northway (3 hours from NYC, 1 hour from Albany, 20 minutes from Lake George, 20 minutes to Gore Mountain Ski resort, 1 and a half hours from Whiteface, 10 minutes to Bolton Landing).

THE SPACE
The cabin is completely private, located on more than one acre of land just minutes from Exit 24 of I-87 North (about 70 miles north of Albany, NY). Across the street from the driveway is private access to 150 feet along the Schroon River, excellent for swimming and fishing. There is a screened-in porch in the backyard that overlooks a fire pit, and lovely privacy from the road due to the sloped driveway and tree line.
My family and I have been coming to this area for years to fish, hike, ski, and enjoy the outdoors. We jumped at the chance to buy this cabin when it came up for sale. It was owned by a wonderful woman who swam in the river every morning in the summer. Her children and grandchildren have expressed to us their fond memories of family gatherings here.
The cabin has been recently restored, including new walls and flooring. There is one bedroom with a queen sided bed and another bedroom with two twin beds. The cabin is low tech. Your cell phone will work and there is a TV with a few DVD’s and HDMI cable to connect to a laptop. There is a landline phone along with Wi-Fi.

The cabin has central air, which is rarely needed, due to cross-ventilation from the many windows as well as very good insulation. There is propane furnace for heat as well as an electric fireplace heater that works terrifically if you get a bit chilly at night. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, coffee maker, toaster oven, utensils and cookware, and there is a full-size refrigerator located in a back room adjacent to the kitchen. There is also a lovely front porch seating area.

Guests will have access to the entire house except the garage.

So cozy!
This was our second time staying here and we loved it. It's nice and private, the dock is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy nature. We were also able to use the firepit and there's just nothing better. It's not too far from town and some delicious restaurants on the lake. Perfect for a weekend getaway!

Perfect get away
My fiancé and I completely enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, serving ware and pots and pans. There were also plenty of towels and washcloths, which we appreciated. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a few spices, etc. available. I am particular about the flavor tap water and found that the water here is good to drink. The location was perfect for us, just far enough off the beaten path to have privacy but close enough to local attractions. The river across the street was very relaxing and we enjoyed a lot of time on the private deck overlooking the water. If you like a quiet country location this is the place for you. Larry was very easy to deal with and check in/out was simple and easy. We look forward to going back again next year and would definitely re-rent this cabin.

Annual girls trip
We were very happy that the stay matched the description of the cabin. The outside deck by the river and the screened in porch outside were so relaxing to sit on. All of the amenities were accessible and Larry was easily responsive if needed. Two suggestions I would make are that upon arrival we came in the dark, and the outside was very dark. It was hard to maneuver around without a light to lead our way to the front door. The other suggestion are the twin beds need to be replaced with a spring sticking out of the one bed so that my one friend needed to sleep on the couch all weekend. That was certainly overlooked as we did enjoy ourselves and the access to Lake George and the surrounding area was easy to get to.

Very nice experience
The cabin is in a great location. The deck across the street on the river was nice, which I’m sure is even nicer in warm weather. Check in was easy, and the property manager was quick to respond to a question I had. The cabin was clean, the decor was cozy, plenty of blankets, and the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials. The pillows were kind of hard, but overall my stay was great and I would definitely rent this house again.
