Why Mary Cook chose Crystal Lake
We fell in love with this property as soon as we drove in the driveway in July, 2002 and made an offer that same day. The view of the lake directly from the property and the access to national forest to the east and south made it feel liked we owned the valley. Fabulous fishing in the private lakes, hiking in our valley and the national forest that is adjacent to our property, mountain biking, cross crountry skiing and snowshoeing are just a few of the reasons that Creekside Corral is so special.

We had a great time at Mary's cabin. Very comfy and had all of the amenities we needed!! Would definitely go back!!
Great mountain vacation home.
The place to disconnect!
Staying at Creekside was a wonderful getaway. It's a place to be disconnected and enjoy the forest and lakes. It's a couple of miles off the main road. The road is not smooth but you don't need 4WD, at least not in the summer. The cabin is as described. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The ice maker is not connected so bring some ice with you. The bath towels are old but clean. Thanks for having books around. I read one of them! It was wonderful to be a 2 minute walk from the lake. The location is really wonderful, especially if you're a fisherperson.
Mary communicated very promptly and was easy to work with.
A few notes:
- You will probably lose internet access on your phone while you're driving. To avoid problems with directions, download them to your phone before you leave home.
- Creekside says it has internet access but don't count on it. You might be able to connect your phone and you might not. It worked periodically for my husband but never for me.
- The first day there were carpenter ants in the main floor bathroom. The ant spray under the sink took care of it.
- It would be much appreciated if there were screens on the upstairs bedroom window and bathroom window. We opened the window to get some fresh air and if the light is on the moths come rushing in. Not the best experience.
Thanks so much for your review and I’m glad you enjoyed your stay . It truly is a special house and we are happy to share our little piece of heaven with others.
Thank you for suggestions and pointing out a few things. I’m sorry that you had some older towels. There are many brand new towels in the house and I’ll certainly chat with our cleaning folks to make sure they are using those.. We do spray every month professionally for insects both inside and out. Unfortunately certain years those pesky black ants may reappear(they aren’t carpenter ants but look like them). Usually only a few but I’ll definitely have the cleaning folks and our bug man spray again. The internet is completely out of our control and has been an issue and bone of contention throughout Red Feather and Crystal Lakes. CenturyLink has promised they are installing new cables fora year now. We continuously call for updates but receive the same information each time. It will happen as quickly as things do in mountain communities. The busier the area is with guests, the usage declines. Cell service can always be hit or miss and again with the mountains out of our control. We do provide a land line for our guests for communication if their cell phones are spotty. The screens you mentioned are in Fort Collins being repaired as they were damaged by previous guests . I’m sorry for the inconvenience and bugs usually are not a problem this time of year.
Again, I am very glad you enjoyed your stay and the RedFeather area. Thank you. Mary
The house was great and afforded plenty of privacy. We appreciated the kitchen being well stocked. Property manager/ owner was very responsive and helpful. We definitely would stay here again.
Amazing cabin in the woods
Great cabin! Great price! Great location! Cabin offered seclusion and privacy as well as friendly neighbors. The lake is a short walk away and can be seen from the wrap around porch. Pets are welcomed. We spotted a moose! Would stay there again.
This is an awesome place to stay! We had a great time at creekside! Already planning a trip next year! Highly recommended!
Direct access to National Forest from the property with hundreds of miles of trails to take your horses on, hike, mountain bike and just enjoy! Creekside resides adjacent to recently expanded Lower Lone Pine Lake..a lovely view from the wraparound deck.
