About this property

After you spot our mailbox on the side of a county road, you turn to a long winding gravel road, as if you get into a heavily wooded forest. You will see our house at the end of driveway, where you don’t see any neighbor’s houses nor hear any traffic on the road. Our two-level barrel-shape house sits on a private land of 12 acres, with plenty of woods to explore and deer and other animals to be spotted. A very large lawn in the front provides a open yet secluded playground, with a fire pit and a grass maze.

Our house is architecturally exciting - south facing curved windows provide a panoramic view of Windham ski mountain with plenty of sun throughout the day. Opening the second floor door is a south-facing porch with spectacular view and is equipped with a gas grill and an automatic awning for shade. The highly functional kitchen comes with a newly installed dishwasher and many small cooking appliances including waffle maker, air fryer and instant pot. We keep many ingredients and spices for both western and Asian cooking.

The master bedroom has a king sized bed with a TV on the wall and its own bathroom. The guest room also has a king sized bed. The second bathroom has a bathtub and shower. In addition, we also have an outdoor shower heated by the sun, that can be used on sunny days to feel completely in nature.

Downstairs is our entertainment area: brand new pool table, excise machine, yoga mats and hand weights. For our guests pleasure, you are also welcome to try our compound bow and electric pottery wheel. Or you may just want to sit on the couch watching Netflix, Amazon prime and other movie channels. Both upstairs and downstairs have fireplace as well as pull-out couch.

The house is only a few minutes away by car from Windham, one of the most charming towns in Catskills, where you may find artisanal shops, ethnic restaurants and a fabulous French bakery. Windham ski area is only 8 minute away from us and Hunter ski mountain is 20 minutes away. There are plenty of hiking trials in the area, and two beautiful golf courses within 15 minutes.

Only a couple of hours away from New York City, Catskills is a well known getaway with a charming rustic and rural feel. People come here all year around for hiking, skiing and, of course, fall foliage.

It was a nice Place but!

It was a beautiful place with a beautiful view but you need a good Cleaning person to come in there before somebody stays and pays for five or six days a week to remove all the mouse poo that was in the bed and under the couches and will have the place 100% and my friends are looking to rent a space In February The The bathrooms need to be cleaned and the sink cannot leak like it does! We do look forward to spending more time there if you correct these minor insufficiencies.

Excellent get away spot!

We had a great time! The property is everything as advertised. You are secluded yet only a five minute drive to Main Street with plenty of shops and restaurants. The house is unique and the new deck is awesome with views of Wyndham Mountain Ski Area. It was 50 degrees over Christmas so we sat out and enjoyed the view with a cocktail. If you are looking for a pristine home to rent you will be disappointed as this property feels lived in and had a few random pieces of clothing lying around under the chairs in the family room and a fridge half full of food. However, if you can live with the rustic cabin like charm of this place and the type of kitchen I grew up with (I’m 59) you’ll be just fine!

Good location but could have been cleaner

Stayed here for a friends wedding in the area. The location was great for the wedding and we were able to drive to many nearby trails, which was great. We were a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the home and the fact that we had to make the beds upon our arrival. Most of the sheets had stains on them so we had to search the linen closet for ones without. There also was no hand soap in the bathroom so we bought our own. We were surprised that the hosts left many of their personal belongings around (i.e. shoes, clothes, food in fridge, etc.). This is definitely not a deal breaker but a heads up about that would have been nice.

Beautiful Hidden Gem of a Property

We loved how this property is nestled away allowing for great privacy. We also loved the big deck, the pool table/ping pong table. I went with my brother for some mountain biking and hiking but I'd love to come back in the Winter with my wife. And Alex, the owner, was very responsive to all of our questions. Great getaway!

The house had spectacular views of the mountain and was pretty close for skiing. The large windows offered a beautiful morning sunrise and very colorful sunset to share after skiing at the house with appetizers. Loved the stars right from the bedroom. The hosts even had it decorated for the holiday♥️. Would highly recommend!
