Overall our stay was very nice. The lake had excellent fishing and the proximity to Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City was just what we were looking for. If I had to be picky, the beach was not really a nice beach which is largely why we chose this cottage for our 1 year old to play in the sand. The sand actually had a bunch of grass growing it in and I think the pictures need to be updated to reflect that. The boat that is part of the rental was underwater when we got there. The house has large picture windows overlooking the lake but they are so dirty on the outside that it takes away from the beauty. They were also covered in spider webs. I also found the check out “to-do” list asking too much when we pay for a cleaning fee as part of the rental. You’re supposed to clean and put dishes back but you have limited soap and no dishwasher soap. The laundry needs to be started but you have no detergent and they ask that you sweep and vacuum all of the floors. Just seemed like a lot more than other rental houses.
Great location but it needs updating inside the cottage
The location was great, our property manager was very helpful and informative, the lake was clean and our grandchildren had a fun week. Our favorite place to eat meals was the nice screened in porch and the view from the living room was amazing! Nice yard for playing games and nice to have a clothesline for wet towels, etc. our chief issue was the inside of the cottage which needs updating and some minor repairs. Refrigerator leaked and the stove needs replaced. Some doors and windows do not work well. We could have used a bedroom in the lower level that is unfinished. Loved seeing the eagles and loons!
Vacation on Lake Ann
Pleasant surroundings. Would be nice if there were empty cupboards especially in the kitchen and bathroom to store our food and supplies. Need to update info on listing.....no paddle boat, hair dryer, high chair, and the picture of the beach (weedy along shore line of beach). Overall a good week.
Beautiful Views, Amazing Sunsets!
Had a great week with amazing sunset views and amenities. Row boat included with gas, canoe and dock for fishing. Even though we brought our own there are tons of kids toys for the little ones to enjoy! Views from living room, deck and beach are all equally amazing! You are about 25 mins from Glen Arbor, 30 mins from Leland and Sutton’s Bay and roughly 25 from Downtown Traverse City. Interlochen and Long Lake are close and offers some great food options as we split the week cooking in and eating out! Even though and little dated (we call it rustic) this is a Very clean property and would highly recommend.
Super great location. The private beach and dock were amazing, and the lake is not too crowded. The 3 bedrooms were very comfortable, and the family room is huge with a magnificent view! We, the kids especially, had a wonderful time.
Great family cottage
The clean cottage is suitable for swimming, boating, fishing, and is located in the midst of all kinds of travel destinations, be in Sleeping Bear Dunes, state parks, Hiking trails, Lake Michigan, or Traverse City. I want to mention a different aspect of the cottage: Claudia's and Lee's conduct is most professional, their responses timely, their actions swift. They also have a property manager who will return calls quickly and also act quickly if something brakes or is missing. In our case we ran out of propane for the grill and had a full propane tank in no time. Oh, and don't forget to visit the store down town L.A (Lake Ann). If it weren't there you would have to invent it. The Kintzel family
The cottage is located within minutes of the National Music Camp at Interlochen which has a full summer program of world renown entertainers. Close by are many golf courses, farm markets, cherry orchards and award winning wineries. It is within thirty minutes of Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, Crystal Mountain Resort, Fishtown in Leland and Traverse City itself. Traverse City is the home of the National Cherry Festival and the world famous Traverse City Film Festival with it's first run movies. Charter fishing and sailing are within twenty minutes. Many well known writers and artists live in the nearby Leelanau Peninsula. The area is unrivaled in the State for its many lakes, majestic Lake Michigan shoreline, State Parks and rural farmland. The cottage is only ten minutes from Moomers, voted by ABC as the best hand dipped ice cream in the USA.
