About Robert Merchasin
Robert and I have always loved Mexico -- so, no surpise when we visited San Miguel we knew immediately that this was the place we wanted to be! We had owned and developed many other properties in the US, but that did not necessarily prepare us for the construction process in Mexico. But, when all was said and done, we managed to take a small run-down residential compound in the heart of the historic center of town and make it an oasis of calm and beauty, where we love to be and where we love to greet others coming to San Miguel. Whether you are tourist or are considering moving to Mexico, we would love to have you as our guests. Move the view of the map to HYBID view to see where we are!

Why Robert Merchasin chose Zona Centro
San Miguel is magical - a well-deserved UNESCO World Heritage site with cobblestone streets and the occasional donkey side by side with modern restaurants and art galleries in a perfect year-round moderate climate. A Mexican friend of ours calls San Miguel '2nd world' - that is, a combination of the 3rd and 1st worlds. And that seems about right. Our house and our apartments are in the best possible location in San Miguel. Many other rental possibilities will tell you that they are some number of minutes (10, 15 sometimes 20 minues) walking distance to the Centro - but that often translates into how long it takes to get to the outskirts of the Centro. Here is why we bought where we did -- we are 1 level block from the Jardin. Period. Could hardly be closer...
What makes this Townhouse unique
Because the weather here is mild year round, we enjoy being outdoors daily on our patios and roof terraces. Just breathing in the air, listening to the fountains and enjoying a cup of coffee outside seems to create a peaceful beginning to every day. We enjoy walking to the Jardin, sitting on the park benches and 'people-watching.' For more sophisticated pleasures, there are hot springs for swimming, 1st class restaurants to walk to, shops, museums, artisan markets or hiking in the nearby hills. Maybe Spanish classes. At the end of the day, back to the terrace to watch the sun go down over the valley -- perhaps with a glass of wine or a margarita. What could be better?

This property in San Miguel was beyond all expectations. Ideal location, beautifully furnished, friendly helpful staff. Morning coffee or a glass of wine on the terrace sublime. Hopefully will have a chance to visit again. Thank you!!
The perfect location in San Miguel!
This was my first visit to San Miguel, and I am so happy to have discovered Cinco Flores! The beautiful compound is just a few moments stroll from the central Jardin, which is the hub of the city. Fabulous restaurants, shops and galleries are located in the neighborhood, as well as, Parque Juarez which is at the end of the street.
The Casita Lirio is beautifully decorated and well maintained. My happiest hours were spent on the spacious roof top terrace drinking my morning coffee or watching the sunset. This place is a real find!
Starting with great communication with Robert - Continuing with perhaps our most enjoyable VRBO stay to date - I can not say enough about the positives of Casa Lirio - perfect for my wife and adult daughter and myself
This is my third time in SMA and this is by far the best location. We will be back again soon!
Charming and convenient
We were so lucky to have chosen this property over the others we viewed. It was very comfortable and so convenient to everything. And it could not have been more charming! Just a word about the stairs to the main bed and bath and rooftop terrace. Steep and narrow, so not for the elderly or very young without supervision. Our stay was just wonderful! Couldn't have asked for more !!
I am appreciative of the kind comments made in this review. As to the comments about the stairs, they are readily manageable by anyone who can manage stairs in general. In thirteen years of business I have not had any previous complaint or report of a problem from any guest online or directly to me. The stair to the bedroom makes a turn and has an ample resting space where it turns. It is of ample width for people to pass, is of normal steepness and has a continuous handrail for anyone who needs it. The stair from the bedroom to the terrace is also of ample width and in two stages with a resting place, tho it is short and easily manageable by anyone who can manage any other stair. It is the case that Cinco Flores has many older guests, some of whom have difficulty with stairs; I have handrails on all the stairs for those that can use a little extra support. There has never been a fall or other accident on the stairs in any of our casitas.
