Lovely home right next to Alligator River Wildlife Refuge

If your goal is to get away from the beach crowds and experience nature, this well kept home on the bay is a wonderful spot to experience moments like beautiful sunsets and gazing at the Milky Way. With the entrance to Alligator River Wildlife Refuge just a few miles down the road, you'll have the chance to see some cool things. We had a magical encounter with a black bear who scratched his back on a tree and wandered by right in front of us. Thanks Jo Lynn and Bob for sharing your home with us and making that possible!

Family vacation

Really nice property and very peaceful for whole family to enjoy as advertised. Well equipped and spacious. Check-in and out was a breeze. Would recommend and visit again.

Great family location

We enjoyed this house very much. Our family had so much fun sitting around the very large family table laughing. The yard is large and beautiful. The breeze off the bay was wonderful. We kayaked often. Our dog was in heaven. Sunsets were beautiful. The house was decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable. Everything we needed was there and there were many family games that our family enjoyed. There were 2 horses next door that we became very fond of and their owners had that southern friendliness that was so endearing . Beach was a short drive - 25 minutes - and we stopped at Whites store everyday for stuff we needed. Look forward to visiting again. The Brenvilles

Remote but close enough

Great property with a great host. Location is remote, yet close enough for day trips for the beach, shopping and adventures. Very clean and quiet with some wonderful equine neighbors. The stars at night are tremendous as well as the sunsets. The full sunset isn’t quite visible from the house but a stroll to the awesome bay front reveals it’s full splendor. If traveling with a tot, I would recommend a folding gate as the two steps leading into the lower level family room can lead to some scares. I would also recommend some outlet covers for those little ones as the bare outlets can be quite attractive. The host provided a great charcoal grill along with charcoal that we took repeated advantage of. I would also highly recommend White’s in Mann’s Harbor for various grocery needs and a quick bite from their grill. Also, you should check out Outland Seafood, super clean with great fresh selection and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. So, if you are looking for a vacation away from all the hustle and trappings of the beach, this is it…but your only 30 minutes away from all that stuff as well. We really enjoyed our stay, so thank you JoLynn.
