Step outside on the 60 ft long wraparound porch, sit in a rocker or swing on the swing and take in the breathtaking views. Abundant wildlife, including turkey, deer and all kinds of birds, often stop by.

Hiking trails provide enjoyable walks throughout the day, including one that leads to a mountain stream where you can go fishing for fun.

Just down the hill from the cabin, a beautiful county park offers access to pickleball, softball, basketball and tubing down Wayah Creek. All right in your backyard!

Spectacular view!
This place was awesome! The views were spectacular. The cabin is the perfect place for total relaxation. The house is comfortable and well equipped. We want to come back when the leaves are in full color and enjoy the beauty once more! We have rented many homes over the past 20 years, and this one ranks as one of our favorites! The owner was very helpful with information about the area different places to visit.

Fantastic View!
Great log cabin in a great location! These photos of the home do not do it justice. The cabin is well maintained, very comfortable, and provided everything we needed for a perfect stay. The view is amazing!! Our timing was perfect to enjoy peak leaf season. We'll be back!

1st time trip to the Smokies
We found the cabin exceptional. Clean, modern, nicely furnished, having everything you need for an extended stay. Spectacular view from a wide comfortable deck with a swing and rockers. Beautiful sunsets. Small table to eat a meal at any time of day. Enjoyed watching the bird life and the variety of butterflies feeding on the butterfly bushes below the deck. Owner and his local rep very helpful. Area full of things to see and do. Mountain air clean and invigorating.

2016 NC Mountain trip
A great cabin with a spectacular view. Perfect getaway location. Roomy and very clean with great design for 2 couples or a family . The owner and his local contact person were very friendly and helpful . They checked on us a couple times to be sure all was going well and we had everything we needed.

Can't wait to go back!
What a lovely place to stay in Franklin. My husband, teen daughter and I stayed for 3 nights on our way home to Florida from a few days in Vurginia. The cabin was clean, well-appointed, and the views were breathtaking. We used it as a base camp while seeing the sites, white-water rafting, and hiking the many falls in the area. Sitting on the expansive porch in the morning with a cup of tea listening to the mountains wake up and with a glass of wine in the evenings watching the lightning bugs and storms roll through the mountains was just the downtime we needed. We are looking forward to returning to Shreck's centrally-located slice of heaven. The only suggestion my daughter had was for a fire pit to roast marshmallows for s'mores. 😊
