About Jodi Hartwell
We both grew up in San Diego and loved the beach areas of La Jolla as kids and young adults and were finally able to purchase our 3rd home in La Jolla. We love being so close to the beach but have 2 other ocean front homes and so this allows us to be a 5 min drive from 3 beaches, and have lots more room and privacy and still be in La Jolla with million dollar views, and city night lights and almost a half acre lot. We are currently enjoying living at our home in Costa Rica and love it here too..... but miss the lovely town of San Diego and the beautiful beaches as well. Costa Rica is paradise but it does not get much better than La Jolla, the most beautiful part of the great city of San Diego.

Perfect Venue for Graduation Celebration
My family gathered here to celebrate my daughter's graduation and Father's Day in June. The home is beautiful and the perfect venue for our family and my daughter's friends and their family to join us for a graduation party. The Mission Bay skyline provided a great backdrop for many pictures taken in the courtyard and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Be sure to ask about the additional fees involved when hosting outside guests.
The house itself was beautifully decorated and easily accommodated our 11 family members who stayed with us over the weekend. We especially appreciate the fully equipped kitchen which had everything we needed. The owners were very accommodating and we certainly appreciated all the thoughtfulness they extended us during our stay. Truly a special place that helped make this time for us so memorable.
Spring Break Vacation with my Daughter, as well as a Return Visit to my Old Hometown!
When I first noticed this home on VRBO, I was extremely excited by the architecture and decor... it was stunning, and something that we knew we would feel very comfortable in... no worries! Then after speaking with Jodi, who could not have been any kinder to work with, or more helpful, with ideas of things to do, or what fabulous places to go eat, and even to the extent of working with us on our arrival and departure times... She could not have been more generous or kind! I could not have asked for a sweeter soul, as an owner to work with! The BEST! The second we arrived and walked inside the house, we were mesmerized ... the details in the home were stunning, to say the least! And we had everything in the home that you could possibly need, except for food! It was simply AMAZING!!!! I am STILL wanting to know where they found their doors and iron work!!! I so want it in my home! lol! Absolutely gorgeous! The home was situated within a short drive to just about anything you would like to do in San Diego... And trust me, we made our rounds! We visited La Jolla Shores, Two days and spent the days on the beach, just relaxing and playing... and then afterward went out to a very nice dinner, since it's Cali Casual, to Eddie V's and enjoyed a superb dinner for four! lol! Now where else can you do that? lol! We visited, Point Loma, which simply warmed my heart... The last time I was there, it was simply a lighthouse... not anymore... it is now home to Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. Apparently it has been there for quite some time, but when I lived there 20 some years ago, I never noticed it... It is definitely a sight to see... We also spent a day on Coronado Island and enjoyed that so much... the food was incredible and the beaches were gorgeous!!!! So relaxing! We got to take the kiddos to the San Diego Zoo, which they loved!!! And I still love the zoo myself! lol! We made our trip to Balboa Park, but didn't have as much time to spend there as I would have liked... That is one of my personal favorites!!! We did get to Old Town... but not Mission Beach... But our favorite thing, was taking the ferry over to Catalina Island for the day!!!! I love that island so very much!!! And it makes for the most fun filled day... snorkeling, and sight seeing, shopping and dinner... the home... oh, wait! I forgot!!! We went dolphin watching... and we saw so many dolphins and they were swimming right next to us and doing tricks! Best trip EVER!
My daughter was married in LaJolla in December and we used this beautiful house to stay in and to host her rehearsal dinner and post wedding brunch for 45. The house is so perfectly furnished for entertaining. I do several vacation rentals a year and have never been in such a nicely furnished home. Everything we needed was there, including paper products and books and games for the grandchildren. The check in and check out instructions were very simple. Lovely home, lovely location!
We spent the Thanksgiving weekend at this beautiful home. Everything was perfect, the home is in beautiful condition and the beds are very comfortable. Going back this summer for sure.
3 Day Walkers Spoiled!
My team was walking in the Susan G. Komen 60 mile walk. We found this home and it was perfect for the team and our supporters.
After completing 20 miles each day, it was a pleasure to come "home" to the incredible views and most welcome Jacuzzi!
We all thoroughly enjoyed the entire home. Would definitely come back! Our deposit was promptly returned and it was very easy to communicate with Jodi.
Thanks for sharing your home!
