About this property

Luxury Cabin

You will love walking into this modern luxury cabin with two bedrooms, a hot tub, and screened-in living area. The screened-in area is our favorite all seasons of the year, whether enjoying the sunsets and views of the Spokane River during the summer, the gentle fall breezes blowing through the golden leaves of the aspen, the stillness and beauty during the cold and cozy winters, or the return of the numerous birds and rush of spring color. You will love sitting around the outdoor fireplace, relaxing in the hot tub, or taking a short walk on the trail through the lush forest of majestic firs, some that tower over 100 feet.

It is a perfect getaway for couples wanting to reconnect with each other and enjoy the beauty of Coeur d'Alene, as well as for a smaller family. Downtown Coeur d’Alene is 10 minutes away. The guest bedroom with bunk beds (twin on top, full size on bottom) gives the kids a comfortable place to call their own. It is suitable for adults as well, as long as you don't mind a smaller space and smaller beds!

Your hosts live down the hill from the cabin, making it very convenient should any needs arise. Don't worry, you still have complete privacy, nestled into the forest, hundreds of feet away from the hosts' home which is barely visible from the cabin. The cabin and hosts' home sit on 4 acres of property.

Please note: in the colder months between November and March, the outdoor propane heaters and fireplace are not adequate for comfortable dining on the screened deck. It is not enclosed during winter, so cold wind still blows through.

We have a no pet policy, but willing to make exceptions depending on the pets. Send us a message to inquire if you want to bring a pet. We do have a small fenced area in the back yard.

About the host

Hello from Ashlie and Michael. We are your hosts that you pass on your way up to the cabin called Little Texas. It is called Little Texas because it is a retreat that our family and extended family uses from time to time while visiting us down the hill. Little Texas ( because it is only big if you are in Texas ), came from Carl and Lana Winfrey, Ashlie's parents who lovingly built the cabin several years ago. They call Texas home and Couer d Alene, their second home. We are thrilled to have you enjoy this little spot of heaven!

Why they chose this property

This property is for you if you value a connection to the woods, the sky, and river, and wildlife. We have regular visits to the cabin and woods around the cabin of white-tailed deer, eagles, moose, elk, and an occasional bear or cougar. In fact when the cabin was being built, we regularly saw bear tracks inside the home. We find the outside deck to be our favorite place when we are there, and followed by the hot tub on the deck where you can take an early morning soak, or a late night gaze at the stars. We dreamed of building a cabin in this cozy place when we built out home down the hill. It didn't take much convincing to have our in laws build a cabin where we our dream location was located. It was a slow labor of love to see it all come together and we are so proud to have it as part of our family!

What makes this property unique

The benefits of this cabin are its proximity to Couer d Alene, wonderful shops, beautiful parks, winter skating, or summer tubing, while feeling very separated from the city!
