Condo, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)
About Roger Lane
I was born in Hawaii, my family has been in Hawaii for 133 years. My Grandmother was the first telephone operator at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in 1927. I used to have a home a block from this apartment building before I moved to La Jolla California. I moved back to Hawaii in 2003 into this apartment, it is truly spectacular. In 2007 I moved to Hana Maui and decided to let other people have the time of their life in my Heaven ON THE BEACH.
Roger Lane purchased this Condo in 2002
Why Roger Lane chose Diamond Head - Kapahulu - St. Louis
I was living in La Jolla California, and came back to Hawaii every year to visit my family. In 2002 I noticed an OPEN HOUSE sign at this address and decided to go in since I always admired this building, The Colony Surf, when I lived here. When I saw this apartment I could not believe the view, and how beautiful every detail of the interior was, it was luxury in every way, a designers work of art. I bought it on the spot, thinking some day I would retire here in paradise. I moved into it in 2003. It wasn't till I moved to Hana Maui in 2007 that I decided to rent it.
What makes this Condo unique
The first thing that shocks everyone is the view, all ocean, sail boats, surfers and canoes. The second is the sound of the waves all day and at night they put you to sleep peacefully. Third is the daily 'Spectacular Sunsets'. Fourth is the private beach which is easy to take a dip or a wonderful safe swim. The ground floor hosts 'Michele's at The Colony Surf' a famous 4 star restaurant. Across the entrance to The Colony Surf is Kapiolani Park, 50 acres to walk or run 3 miles around. And a 10 minute walk along the beach and you are in Waikiki, for amazing dining , shopping, and fun.

Damage and incidentals
You will be responsible for any damage to the rental property that is caused by you or your party during your stay.
Unobstructed views of the ocean, the skyline of Waikiki, lingering sunsets and Friday night fireworks was mesmerizing! The sound of the surf and rustling palms created a calming, rhythmic environment 24/7. Except for the sounds of nature, it was relatively quiet on the 7th floor.
Easily accessible beach, access to the Bus, and walking up Diamond Head Road each morning were highlights.
This unit has great storage for a studio. The Colony Surf is ideally located for a peaceful, restorative stay!
The unit was lovely . Having the pacific ocean as a room mate was wonderful. And the neighborhood perfect.
Well supplied unit in well maintained building complex
Condo well supplied with regard to kitchen ware, linens, beach supplies. Roger Lane is both accessible and very helpful. Building location is ideal, being well located with regard to amenities, yet quiet and peaceful even though it is in the heart of Honolulu. Great walking neighbourhood . The beach out front is wonderful for swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding, or just sitting. It ticks all my important boxes.
Back in a heartbeat
We just didn’t want our stay to end. This was our eighth visit to Hawaii and we were asking ourselves why did it take us so long to find Roger’s accommodation. The apartment is comfortable enough and it has everything you could need for a months stay.... but it is the location that makes the stay. Usually we would choose restaurants for dinner or happy hour that had spectacular views but here, we didn’t need to leave the apartment. So most evenings found us with our mai tais seated at the windows waching the sunset or just appreciating the beauty that is Waikiki. Roger is great responding to communications and we appreciated his thoughtfulness with the manchester, lovely soft towels and new sheets.
Although we had a car, we found it better to walk in to Waikiki as it was great exercise and a pleasant walk. All in all, our best stay in Hawaii to date. Thank you Roger for your hospitality
You are so very welcome Vicki, I am so glad you had such a good time.
We look forward to having you with us again.
Close to Heaven...
This is my go to little beauty for a tranquil and perfect holiday. I have stayed
here three months over the past four years and have already scheduled my next stay. And, I am a traveler who rarely goes to the same place twice. Needless to say, I absolutely love this place. The location is perfect. The view out your huge window wall is so gorgeous, I find it hard to describe. Endless ocean, sail boats, surfers, swimmers, and of course the beautiful outrigger’s from the canoe club next door. The beach is right outside and the water is perfect. Kapiolani Park is on the other side of the building. Great for a shaded walk or picnic. The heart of Waikiki is an easy walk. Highly recommend!
