Perfect for families !!!
This is the perfect blend of together and space! Lovely gathering area in the kitchen, front room and family room but everyone had their own space with bathrooms - very nice for a family with adult kids and spouses. The views were killer amidst a nice and quiet location. Would come back here for sure! Mark is an awesome host!

BOOK THIS PROPERTY!!
4 sisters in law stayed for a long weekend. We were greeted by a doe and a fawn on the driveway when we pulled up. The driveway is no joke and would definitely require 4 wheel drive in the winter. The views from the decks are amazing. We enjoyed the hot tub every day. We named Lookout #1 "Church" because that's how we felt about the majestic views. The house is well stocked and very spacious. We appreciated the soft blankets to snuggle up with when watching movies. We cooked supper there every night. We appreciated the heads up to get groceries in Conifer. There's a crockpot, coffee pot, plenty of silverware, plates, bowls, cups, coffee mugs, pots, pans, roasters, utensils, etc, etc, etc. The beds were comfortable. The showers are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which we greatly appreciated. We found a few hair dryers stashed in the bathrooms. There was a pack and play set up, baby gates, and a baby monitor. The doe and fawn reappeared on day #3 of our trip and were content to graze around and let us watch. We really enjoyed the Aspen Peak Winery in Bailey. The food and the wine were superb. We also hit up the Chill Squirrel, a boutique (can't remember the name), the Sasquatch Outpost, and Mad Jack's Brewery. We took a day trip to Georgetown to ride the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Guanella Pass was so beautiful with the leaves changing. The only thing we would have liked was more seating on the decks. The couch was wet since it rained off and on the first 2 days. There were only 2 chairs at the deck table. BUT we found some folding chairs in the garage that worked just fine. We appreciated Mark sending us a message to check in on us. This property was phenomenal and you will not regret booking!!

About the host

Hosted by Mark Mueller

Host profile image
I am originally from Wisconsin (Go Pack!). I moved to the Colorado mountains in 2018 to find a place that when I put my computer away, it felt like I was on vacation.

I am a part time consultant and host. Since early 2020 I have been fortunate to provide an escape for guests. I care immensely about guest experience and work hard to provide thoughtful hospitality. I love meeting guests and am open to socializing but I will default to privacy.

I am also a Superhost on Airbnb and are continuously improving the guest experience.

Why they chose this property

This was my dream home. I decided to share the experience and fix up other local homes. I love this home (my first home) and lived in it for a few years. Both the inside and outside of the home are beautiful and private. The interior open concept invites such easy and relaxed socialization. The outdoor deck sectional and hot tub allows for even more relaxation. Other homes are also not in easy view and so there is a nice level of privacy.

The home is also among the tree tops with amazing views of the national forest and mountain range. You will have 6+ acres to explore on the mountain side (yes this home is on the side of a mountain). There are a few boulder sets that take the mountain views to a different level. Great for a morning coffee stroll.

The last piece to mention is about Bailey. From food trucks to the winery, brewery, local shops ... it has changed quite a bit and has been a town we have really enjoyed. There are also endless hiking or mountain biking trails in the area.

What makes this property unique

Wake up in the morning on your own time. The quiet is only broken by the hum of birds and the rush of the river down the ravine. Step out onto the deck to take in the smell of the forest in the cool morning air. Grab coffee and take a short walk to the outlook. On your way say hi to the deer, fox, and more drinking from the pond off the deck. Take a seat on the boulders with an unobstructed view of the mountain range. Notice how everyday the setting of the mountain range changes from fog rolling through to the winter wonderland snowfall.

During the day, hit the dirt roads to go hiking or winery/brewery exploring in Bailey. It is your day to take on. Return home to clean off the day in the shower and then relax in the hot tub with a drink.

Late at night, load the fire burning stove to feel the cozy heat on your feet. Get lost in the flame's flicker. Enjoy a drink and comfortable conversation with your loved ones or grab some board games to add some fun competition.

These aren't made up stories but a part of our lives when we lived in the home. We bought it because our city lives were taking too much hold of us. We wanted to be able to shut down and be on vacation. This home is where we turned this into reality.
