Very central and can walk everywhere
This apartment had a great location. We walked to all the sights without difficulty. Apartment was as stated but there is a lot or road noise especially since we had to have the windows open due to the heat. With the windows closed it was a lot quieter. Check in was easy and there is a grocery close by (not open on Sunday evenings). St Nicholas Quarter is a good place to eat dinner. There is an additional city tax that must be paid when you arrive (or by departure).
You couldn't get more central
We had a wonderful time in Berlin staying in this flat and using it as a base to explore the city. We found most places we wanted to see were an easy walk away and transport links when needed were very easy and quick to reach too.
The flat was very comfortable and well equipped with all we needed for our stay. We opted for the full fridge option which worked out very well. All communication with Ina, the owner, was quick and friendly. We stayed here with our 6 year old son, the bed options were very good, with the choice of 2 very good doubles and a very comfortable fold out bed. All bedding and linens were provided.
As others have said, the flat is on the 3rd floor, with no lift, so not really suitable for very young children or those that struggle with stairs.
But for us, it was great and meant we had a great base to return to for a comfortable night before setting out again for more sightseeing.
Excellent, convenient apartment with very good facilities
Clean, comfortable, spacious.
Altogether very good for we three adults, and space for more.
However, it is on the third floor with 50 odd stairs so no good for anyone who is not fit.
Very good appliances and equipment. Light and spacious and within walking distance or public transport to main areas of interest. Enjoyed walking along the canal to the centre.
thank you for your good review. i am happy if you have a good holiday in my apartment.
all the best for you and your family.
Great location, comfortable apartment
We arrived well after dark but had no trouble getting the keys, and after a little fiddling got the front door open. The apartment on the third floor was very clean and comfortable. The location is unmatched—walking distance to many attractions and very close to the U-Bahn. Everything went great and we really enjoyed our stay.
Staying in Berlin
Wonderful apartment to rent while staying in Berlin. You are in the heart of all attractions. Walking distances to museums, parks, all the city's highlights.
Thank you and all the best!
Wonderful apartment in a great location
We absolutely loved our apartment in Mitte, in what was the former East Berlin. The apartment was located in a period town building, overlooking a canal and we managed to reach most things in less than a 10-minute walk. It was spacious, airy, spotlessly clean and full of nice litte touches like potted plants and vases of flowers, maps and information on Berlin. We arrived to find our fridge stocked full with food and drinks which the owner had kindly bought for us and this kept us going for lunch and snacks for all the 4 days that we were there - we were always pleased to come back to the flat for a midday break to recover from all the sightseeing we did. Berlin is a really beautiful city (marred only slightly by the many cranes and building sites you see). The East seems to be undergoing the most reconstruction but there seem to be even more beautiful historical buildings there than in the West maybe because it underwent so many decades of stagnation. The whole town has a very relaxed, almost "mediterranean" feel to it with umpteen outdoor restaurants and cafes, many along the river Spree, serving delicious food. Sadly 4 days were not long enough but we managed to pack in a visit to the top of the Dom (many stairs to climb but worth it for the spectacular views), a concert where the lady conductor managed to conduct and sing virtually simultaneously due to the counter-tenor being indisposed, the synagogue and Jewish memorial, the DDR museum, the Neues Museum with the bust of Nefertiti, a riverboat trip, the East Side Gallery, Brandenburg Gate, umpteen churches but a visit to the Reichstag will have to be for the next time (our legs could not managed the 300+ steps to climb to the top, not this time anyway!).
historic old town, Nikolaiviertel, Gendarmenmarkt, the construction of the new city castle, boat trip on the River Spree, Museum Island, the government district, restaurants, Alexanderplatz, Checkpoint Charly, Gertraud bridge, old Jungfernbrücke
