White Caps

Our calendar is updated in real-time & our nightly rates are accurately displayed. Simply enter your desired dates and click 'Book Now!'

White Caps sits on historic and beloved Marshall Point Road in Port Clyde. This area overlooks both Muscongus and Penobscot Bay, providing picturesque views of the islands, like Monhegan, that dot the horizon. Cherished by families for years, White Caps has a large yard, outdoor living spaces, and a main house complemented by a rustic bunkhouse. Walk to the Marshall Point lighthouse (where Tom Hanks ended his East Coast run in "Forrest Gump"), to sandy Drift Inn Beach, or into town for dinner at the end of a long day.

Lovingly maintained by a dedicated caretaker, this classic Maine family summer house is comfortable, functional, and quite charming. Indulge in breathtaking views of the ocean both from inside the property or from either of the two decks. The ocean is right across the street and beaches are only a short drive away, giving you unparalleled access to the sand and the surf.

On the first floor, you'll find a large kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and an observation room at the front of the house where you can watch the waves crashing, the lobster boats hauling traps, and the sailboats gliding by. This room allows you to appreciate the view in any weather - it is fully furnished and heated. Though all of the bedrooms will keep you comfy at night, the primary boasts a view of the ocean, making it an easy choice. Wake up every morning to gorgeous sunrises over the seascape and take romantic strolls to the lighthouse as the sun goes down.

Is there a better way to start and end every day?

Great family house
We had a great family vacation here! Lots of room to play games and puzzles. They do have wi-fi which is a nessesity since cell service is spotty! LOL. The lighthouse had great sunsets and great rock climbing. Kitchen was well equipt! Only thing that would have made it better would have been a few more days!!

Beautiful location, wonderful home!
Wonderful old home with many modern updates in amazing location. The ocean is literally across the street and a lighthouse just a short walk. We watched lobster boats through the front windows while drinking morning coffee and walked to the lighthouse at least once a day. Several beaches just a few minutes' drive away. More touristy place take a little longer to get to because roads are mostly two-lane and speed limits are low-- but beautiful drives and walks to everywhere. Would love to stay here again!

Just so beautiful
My husband and our two teen daughters loved our stay. The view was incredible and such a nice change of pace from our home in Texas. We walked to Port Clyde several times for coffee and meals. We walked to the lighthouse, just down the street, several times. It was a great spot for watching sunsets. The house had plenty of space, nice towels, it was overall very comfortable. We didn't cook, but the kitchen seemed well-stocked. The furniture was really comfy, even the outdoor furniture (especially on the lower deck). We walked around a lot, but also spent a ton of time sitting and staring at the water. A couple recommendations: The sun comes up crazy early. All of the bedrooms were fully bright by 4am. Next time, I'll take a sleep mask. Also, our AT&T phones didn't have service at all at the house. It was fine once we were in and connected to wifi, but getting in was a little challenging without being able to access my email. Maybe take a screenshot of the access code. Clarifications: In one spot the listing says there are one and a half bathrooms, but there are actually two and a half. There is one full bathroom downstairs (with the coolest toilet seat ever) and upstairs are three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. There is also and a bunkhouse outside that has two twin beds. We didn't use it, but it appears to be included in the rental (?). Whomever stays there will need to come back into the house to use the bathroom.
