Our beautiful stone cottage-style home in Westchester County is charming and comfortable, a bit of country just outside the City.

Walk 6 minutes to train. 30 minute ride to Grand Central. 17 miles north of Times Square.

Beautiful private landscaped back yard with terraces and gardens. Dogs ok.

NOTE: This is not a fancy hotel or a McMansion. This is a charming home with personal touches and belongings. You will have it to yourself, but if you are looking for a sterile non residential property, this is not the one.

The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. Children and dogs in area, walk to Memorial Park (with tennis and playgrounds) or Village of Larchmont (5 min walk) has all amenities. Train to Grand Central 6 min walk. Drive to City in 35 minutes or express train takes 30 min.

One mile from LI Sound with lovely waterfront, Manor Park.

Off street parking in driveway.
Quick access to I-95, Hutchinson River Parkway.

Different than I expected
The house and property are charming, I believe it dates back to either late 1800's or early 1900's and the neighborhood and town of Larchmont are wonderful to walk around. The backyard is small but really beautiful. Unfortunately, I was not aware from the listing on VRBO that the family actually lives in the house...so all of their "stuff" is in there, everywhere (closets were full, fridge was full, her personal items were in bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, etc.) And, Polly (the owner, who is very friendly and nice) actually slept in the house the first night...yikes!! And her 19 year old son was there when I arrived yet left late that night. All of that made me extremely uncomfortable. She said she and her dogs would be on the premises in an apartment above the garage but it was actually through a doorway at the end of the hall right near the bedroom I slept in. One of the big reasons I rented a VRBO was to avoid contact with others during this Covid-19 pandemic...my husband is in treatment for leukemia and has no immunity. So as my title says, this VRBO was different than I expected. The fact that the house is very "lived in" may be just fine with others, but I encouraged Polly to make that clear in her listing description. If I had known I would not have rented this home for 4 days.
