One-of-a-kind!
My family, friends and I were impressed by the incredible attention to detail the owners have shown in creating their lodge. They clearly enjoy hosting guests, and that was evident throughout. Neighbors nearby were also very welcoming. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind place to stay on Upper Saranac Lake, this is it!

Amazing trip!
Whether you’re sitting on an Adirondack chair listening to the loons sing or having coffee on the balcony, you can feel the “summer breeze” off the lake. The house is gorgeous and the decor is cabin perfect! It was clean and well stocked, the pontoon boat was ready to go, the wood was split for s’mores by the lakeside fire pit, and Adirondack chairs sat in the perfect spot for watching the gorgeous sunsets. All you need is a love of the mountains, food, and clothes. John and Kelly were the perfect hosts who made our recent stay at their lodge superb! We created memories to last a lifetime. We hope to make this our new “welcome summer” tradition.

We have a deep passion and love for the Adirondacks. We were the previous owners/operators of the rustic Cabins at lake Colby and we’re proud of our exceptional ratings earned from our many loyal clients. We are so pleased to share our love for this area once again, with old friends and new adventurers at our new lodge. We love to hike, fish, cross country ski, sight see and simply relax while reveling in one of the most amazing natural “cathedrals” in the country. We marvel at the history and development of this land and the fortitude of early inhabitants. The air, the water, the history, the people, the legacy, all make this the special place it is. We are humbled every day that we are privileged to be here and know that you and yours will have a wonderful visit. In the same spirit of the early settlers and Native Americans who graced this land, we pray this place will remain in our family for yrs to come. Kelly and I are so thankful to be able to share our passion and love for this area with our visitors. Come see us!

Why they chose this property

As I retired, we were seeking a place that would reflect on all that Kelly and I have done together. We are very hands on, she with the talent and eye for color, decorating. Me, with a keen eye for her fine work and a relentless work ethic. The first time on this lake, within 5 minutes, we both knew we had to be here. Thus began the search for a small parcel on the water that we could rehab or develop in our vision and with some sweat equity. A lot of our decor was assembled with a nod to the past. Our mantels we reclaimed from a torn down dairy barn. The canoe in our 4 season room comes with a story of a marine, the brutality of war and the forgiveness and healing of a life in nature. Our table is a nod to the creative work and ethic of Amish craftsmen. Our fireplaces handset by true artists with local stone. Our little piece of land, lol dwarfed by the expanse of the historical great camps that still dot the region, but nonetheless, our access to a majestic body of water. A bit reminiscent of Lake George, without all the buzz and traffic of that magnificent lake. Our “pie shaped parcel” is indeed, our slice of heaven and we were blessed to be in the right place, at the right time. Our sunrise and sunset reminds me every day how precious this little dot of earth is. We benefitted greatly from the work of a skilled architect, a builder who has his DNA imbedded amongst most all the noble camps on Bartlett Carry. Lastly, a crew of true craftsmen who built this place from the foundation up, as a team, collectively delivering a camp we still can’t believe is ours. There certainly are more grander sites, with rolling acres and Thousands of sqft of Adirondack grandeur. I dare say, none though diminishes our spot, our place as the Summer Breeze Lodge, unique and proud in its own way, on its very spot.

What makes this property unique

Comfort, access, a nod to the past, enjoyment in the moment and a way to rekindle and refresh. A place to share. The camp or lodge is nice, the amenities and all. But it is so much more than a boat ride or a view or comfortable bed. It is a place to come and go but mentally remain etched in your mind. It is quiet, peaceful and yet it begs for the noise of kids having fun, adults busting chops, a morning kayak, a crackling fire or the loons and coyote serenading every night, brings experience and a smile to the soul of this place. And those that visit. John and Kelly
