About this property

Windhaven Cottage sits atop knoll, on 5 acres of land, overlooking the eastern hillsides and the vineyards of the Carneros wine region. Windhaven Cottage is an excellent stay for a couple to celebrate an anniversary, spend a honeymoon or just get away. Our home is also on the property. (TOT#408)

Major wineries are within a 5 to 10-minute drive. (Viansa, Cline, Gundlach Bundschu, Buena Vista, Sebastiani, Ravenswood just to name a few.)

The deck off the back of the cottage offers complete privacy and a wonderful place to enjoy morning coffee with the rising eastern sun, relax with afternoon tea, or celebrate the day with evening wine and cheese. The views are marvelous over the top of the oaks and vineyards. On cool evenings relax by the fire and enjoy music, snuggle up, view a movie or sit back with a good book.

The area is safe and quiet for evening or morning walks. Walk a mile or take on four.

Cottage in the country with beautiful views.

The cottage exceeded our expectations. Sitting on the balcony in the evening, glass of wine in hand, watching the sunset on the hills over the vineyard. This was topped off with a dip in the perfectly heated spa. Bob and Wendy were perfect hosts and gave us a very warm welcome. Their property is a perfect, tranquil hideaway to spend a few days, in the Sonoma wine region.

Lovely

Very quaint and charming cottage with breathtaking views. We were warmly welcomed and given plenty of suggestions as to things to do. We’d stay here over a resort every time. Comfortable and reasonably priced.

Great stay

We were there for three nights. The bed was very comfortable. The view was great. The kitchen was small, but it has everything you need. If you plan on cooking I suggest bringing your own knives location with great views although you do need a car to get around will probably come back at some point. Bob and Wendy are great and very helpful when needed.

Windhaven Cottage

Our stay was wonderful. The cottage is small and quaint, with breathtaking views and tons of nature around. The host family were really lovely, genuine people and we felt very welcomed staying on the property.

About the host

Hosted by Owner

We have both lived, worked and raised our family in Sonoma Valley. Bob started teaching at Sonoma Valley High School and went on the be the principal. After retiring from Sonoma Valley High School he has continuing his teaching at Napa College. Wendy worked as a graphic artist and started the Windhaven as a business twenty-seven years ago.
We are both very active and take great pride in our jobs and our home, property and the cottage. We love greeting our guests and being of any assistance during their stay. Many of our guests have become good friends and come to stay over and over.

Windhaven offers a quiet country exprience in the Carneros wine region while being only 3 miles from the Historical town of Sonoma. The area around the cottage is quiet and in a safe neighborhood for walking or jogging. Windhaven Cottage's location makes access to hwy 121 ( Carneros Hwy) the thoroughfare for a trip to Napa or Petaluma, easy.
