The specialty is not only the unique view, but also, of course, the location directly in the harbor mile of the beautiful newly emerging marina, the main attraction of the entire resort.

Excursions and shops, restaurants, shops, etc. are best found in Kappeln an der Schlei, 7 km away, the infrastructure in Port Olpenitz with the marina, restaurants, etc. has not yet been completed, and the harbor mile is still under construction. In 2019/20 the marina is to be expanded and more cafes, restaurants and shops are to be opened. A large EDEKA supermarket with bistro is right next door.

The public “Weidefelder Strand” adjoins the Port Olpenitz area directly in the south, is free of visitor's tax, 3 km long and of good sand quality. There is also a small beach restaurant there.
