The cabin is the perfect home base for year-round access to fishing, hiking, skiing, biking, boating, and snow activities. We’re just a five-minute drive from historic downtown Markleeville, where you can visit our favorite brewery, try out the local restaurants, or go fly fishing on the East Carson River. We’re two miles from Grover Hot Springs State Park and fifteen minutes from Hope Valley. In the winter, set out for cross-country skiing, show-shoeing, or snowmobiling, or hit the slopes at Kirkwood and Heavenly, all within 30 minutes of the cabin. If you need an additional sleeping space, there is an inflatable air mattress in the master bedroom closet. If you need more wood for the wood-burning stove, you’ll find half a cord in the garage.

Remote and Just Right
Feeling outdoors-y? If you've been to South Lake and ready for a more remote Tahoe experience, this is a cozy place that's not too remote. Markleeville has creature comforts, so don't worry if you forget some staple items. Grover Hot Springs is worth a visit and a hike to the waterfalls. The hot springs are fabulous, but reserve 2 days in advance online. Kirkwood is the best ski resort of the bunch, and it's just 35 minutes away. The house is great and has simple appliances that are easy to figure out. We enjoyed our stay and felt very comfortable.

GREAT find! Secluded yet close to town
Very nice and modern inside yet rustic outside. Surrounded by woods, quiet and peaceful. A mile to town and even shorter to the Hot Springs with beautiful, easy hike to some water falls. SO many things to see and do in the surrounding area's! We LOVED our stay here and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Very considerate host, instant reply
What else do you expect from a host? Instant reply. The instruction book gives very clear notice and more important, concise! Extra sets of liners are labeled nicely. I think he is one of the top 3 hosts whose cabins I have been stayed! A few things needs to improve : there were lots of snow on deck, stairs and driveway. Not safe to use front door. And there is no extra set of keys. One night the power lost and garage door cannot been opened. But the host answered the phone immediately and luckily the power was back soon. Overall we had a good time. Will stay here again if possible.

Fishing trip getaway
The owner is very easy to communicate with and overall we had a good experience. Be aware that it is a steep driveway and during the winter only one of the two spaces in the drive is plowed.

I am husband to Hae-Sin and father of a 16-year-old and a 13-year-old (it's an old picture). I like to make things including companies, airplanes, pens, treehouses, zip lines, RC stuff, and anything else my kids want to make. We love Markleeville and the surrounding area - hiking, skiing, biking, and boating, just to name of few of the things we love here. And just resting. We bought our cabin in December 2021 to enjoy ourselves and share. Motto: "If not now, when?"
